Got a call claiming to be from some UK insurance for household appliances, but I have no idea what they were even trying to insure. I just hung up on them and told them to buzz off.

Got a call about my washing machine, but they said it was a Beko which it definitely isn’t. Felt like they were trying to trick me into buying some bogus appliance warranty. Not sure how they tracked down my mobile number since I hardly ever share it, I usually just use my landline.

BT Call Protect picked this up as a scam call. Keep flagging these nasty scammers!

On September 30th I got a quiet call on my landline from 01273 655093 in Brighton. Thanks to the advice I found on this forum, I’m gonna block it for good where it won’t bother me anymore. Cheers for the help!

Got a call saying my insurance was up for renewal. They were asking for Mr Carter. Funny thing is, they knew where I lived but didn’t know my actual name. I only have one insurance policy and I’m pretty sure it’s still valid since it was renewed just last month.

Got a call from a lady with a Thai accent twice, once lunchtime and then just after 6 in the evening. She claimed it was about washing machine insurance and tried to get my bank details. Seems like a total scam to me.

Got a call from someone who said they were with Domestic Appliances. They started asking about an extended warranty, but I just told them I wasn't interested and said I'd check out any details once the letter shows up.

Someone called about washing machine insurance and actually got the name spot on. But when I asked them which brand they meant, they rattled off like six different ones - none were mine! As soon as I called them out on it, they just hung up. So dodgy.

Got offered some dodgy white goods warranties from somewhere I’m not too sure about. No idea if they follow any data protection rules either. Tried getting help from their customer service but it was all pretty disappointing.

Got a bloke calling saying he could sort me out with a cheaper electricity deal. Told him I was fine with my current provider, but he kept on pushing that I should switch to save money. He’s been ringing from loads of different numbers, pretty much every couple of hours for two days straight.

Didn't answer the phone because the number was unfamiliar, thought I'd look it up here first. Glad I did, definitely going to block it now.

Got a call from a lady saying she was from D G Appliances about some washing machine warranty. She mentioned she had already sent me info last week, but I never got anything, even though she had my address. When I asked her to send the details again, she just went back to repeating some scripted spiel over and over.

Got a call yesterday claiming my kitchen appliances warranty was about to expire, sounded totally dodgy to me. They kept pushing for my card details but I hung up pretty quick. Definitely a scam trying to catch people out. Watch out everyone!

I got these silent calls all the time, so I just blocked them, which looking at the comments, seems like the proper move. After a few calm weeks, suddenly I'm getting hassled daily by what look like UK numbers, always around the same hour.

Got a call about renewing insurance for kitchen appliances, which is odd since we dont own any. They even mentioned the brand of our washing machine, which caught me off guard. Then they asked if I wanted the standard cover or to go for an upgrade. Felt like a dodgy sales pitch trying to get me to pay for a renewal, so I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call around 3 or 4 in the morning, which is so strange, I never pick up unknown numbers. A couple of days earlier, I did actually answer once, said hi and some bloke just said hi back in a really weird way, so I quickly hung up. Then, they rang me straight away again but I just ignored it this time.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Eva Williams, but she sounded like she was from abroad. She was trying to get me to renew a washing machine insurance I definitely don’t have. Seems like these scammers have started up again - I’ve been getting loads of similar calls recently.

Got a call from someone claiming my insurance on the washing machine and freezer had expired. Then she tried to get the expiry date off my card, saying she already had the number. Yeah, no chance, mate.

Got a call about my kitchen appliance insurance supposedly about to run out. When I asked for details like when it started and what it covered, they said 2017, for a fridge and a washing machine. Problem is, my washer is over 20 years old! Then they suddenly said, “Oops, must be mixed up with someone else”. Total scam!

Just got a call from a lady with a foreign accent who said my name. I didn't confirm it was me and waited a couple of seconds before putting the phone down. She said something about a guarantee before I hung up.

Answered what looked like a local call, but I reckon it’s redirected from some call centre in another place. A woman with an Asian accent wanted to talk about insuring my freezer and washing machine... for the umpteenth time. Both those appliances are ancient and long past any warranty. I’ve never taken out separate insurance on them and don’t plan to. They keep calling me nonstop though, which is pretty annoying.

Got a call from a lady overseas who somehow knew my name. She started spouting on about my washing machine insurance ending soon. Told her to jog on - a) I don’t have any extended warranties on stuff like that, and b) my washing machine’s practically an antique, might be older than James Arkwright himself!

Got a call from a woman with a strong foreign accent, saying my fridge freezer warranty had expired and trying to sell me new coverage. I told her I never go for extra warranties and mentioned there’s still a tiny issue with the appliance. She just kept going over the same spiel again and again. Eventually, I hung up. Lucky I wasn’t someone who easily gets convinced. Always make sure you know what you’re agreeing to before signing anything.

Got a call from a bloke with a foreign accent about my washing machine warranty running out. He even knew my last name and gave an address, but that address hasn’t been mine for over a decade. When I pointed this out, he said their records must be wrong, sounded fishy to me so I just ended the call. Seems like a dodgy scam to me.

Got a call on my home phone from a woman who sounded a bit funny. She said she was from some kind of household goods firm but didn’t say the name clearly. Asked if my old appliance was still running or if I’d swapped it out. Funny enough, I still do my laundry by hand! Didn’t wait around to find out more, just blocked the number right then. Pretty clear it was a dodgy call.
