Got a quick ring and then the number popped up on my Caller ID. Took a look here and now it's blocked! :D Honestly, why doesn’t BT do something about this? I had a very similar run-in with this number. They called about extending the warranty on my washing machine and wanted to confirm my visa info. When I asked them to state the card details they supposedly had, they got a bit shaky and I ended up hanging up. Definitely gave my bank a heads-up as well. No matter how often I switch my phone number or try to keep it private, the nuisance calls just won't stop. Every time my phone company issues me a new number, it's basically one that's been used somewhere else in the UK before. Unfortunately, those annoying telemarketers have their own lists of numbers and don’t care if you're ex-directory or not. So now, I've just disconnected my landline and the phone sits tucked away in a drawer. When I need to make a call, I connect it again, but if anyone wants to reach me, they have to send a text first.

Im so fed up with these scam calls about washing machine insurance. Some bloke called me yesterday, and I didnt hold back - told him to get lost. He then had the nerve to tell me to keep it professional, and I said theres no chance i’ll be polite to a con artist. He sounded all bothered and said he just wanted a simple yes or no. He wouldn't give me any info about the company when I asked. I told him I could connect him with the Information Commissioner about TPS training, but he just laughed and ended the call. They were trying to sell insurance for kitchen gadgets. They’ve called me before, so I just either mess with them or hang up, but never share any details. I've reported them to the ICO, but I doubt it’ll do much, like always. Wish you could catch Covid over the phone and that’d fix these annoying Amazon scam callers too.

Received a call from someone stating they were from Domestic General, offering to renew my washing machine insurance. It was a woman with an accent at first, but she slipped up when she mentioned I hadn’t made any claims, which isn’t true. Then she asked for my card information but refused to provide any of my policy numbers, blaming GDPR for that. I told her to send me something in writing. Shortly after, a man claiming to be her supervisor phoned, trying the same trick. When I asked him to verify my details, he said he couldn’t access the system - total nonsense!

The bloke had an accent that sounded like he was from somewhere in the Indian subcontinent.
