Out of nowhere, some bloke gave me a ring, shouting about my washing machine, oven, hob, and fridge freezer insurance being expired and offering a discount. I told him I couldn't just chat about that without seeing the info myself. Ended up hanging up on him. I'm relieved I did - the whole thing was nonsense about my cover finishing. But how the heck did he have so many details? Looked up the number afterwards and confirmed I wasn't wrong to hang up. Sounds like the yelling's just to scare folks into saying yes - pretty obvious tactic if you ask me.

Got a call from someone pretending to be Amazon, saying they’d be withdrawing money from my account. I haven’t bought anything from Amazon in ages since they sold me dodgy, clearly not brand new stuff before! The accent sounded foreign too. This number has buzzed me a few times already. Got a call from someone looking for a Mr P Ryan - no surprise, I’ve had loads of calls for him before. The caller claimed he was ringing from Domestic General. I explained I’ve had this number for 3 years now and don’t know any Ryan. Then he started arguing, saying since I have the number it’s my responsibility for whatever he was selling. At that moment, I told him I’d report him to the police. He just laughed it off! So I ended the call.
