I’ve been receiving persistent phone calls from this number, and it appears to be a salesperson hawking insurance for washing machines. The individual on the line is rather rude whenever I politely decline and just won't take no for an answer. I'm fairly convinced this is some sort of scam.

Got a call from a woman pushing an extended warranty for a washing machine. The number showed up as an international one on my caller ID. When I looked back through my phone, the same number popped up before. She was really pushy, and honestly, I can see how old folks might get talked into wasting money on this kind of thing they absolutely don’t need.

Someone rang up saying they were with Domestic and General, offering to switch my payments from monthly to a one-off upfront amount to save me some cash. But I quickly worked out it was a dodgy scam.

They've been ringing me up about 5 times every day, non-stop, for like 5 whole years now. Honestly, I just hope they catch some nasty bug and drop dead. I've got my answerphone on all the time with it just saying "hello, hello, hello," and switched off the ringer. Everyone in my family and mates know this, so they hang on for me to pick up instead.

Just had a call from 01273655072, shows up as Bexley in Kent. They were asking for Mrs Holiday - bit odd, maybe they meant someone else like Mrs Christmas Holiday? I told them there’s no one by that name here, then ended the call. Sounds like another one of those appliance repair or insurance scams that keep buzzing through. Funny enough, we contacted Beko a few days back, makes me wonder if they’re cracking into their customer list or something. Best to just ignore if this number pops up on your phone.

Got a call supposedly from Brighton, but I’m really not convinced. The person pretended to be from Domestic and General and started making all these dodgy claims about my appliance cover - asking what appliances I have, how many call outs I’ve used, that sort of thing. Then they offered a discount on the premium, and when I said OK, they quickly tried to get my debit card details. I said no way, just take it off my normal direct debit, and wouldn’t you know it, they just hung up. Definitely a scam.

Got a call from a woman with a foreign accent who said she was calling for Domestic & General. When I mentioned I was in Grimsby, she said she was actually ringing from Glasgow about our electrical appliances. I let her talk for a bit before calling her out as a scammer. She didn’t say a thing after that. Pretty obvious they were trying to scam me for money.

I keep getting calls from a bunch of different numbers that all start with 01273 655... sometimes 072, sometimes 081 or 087. Normally, either they try to sell me insurance for a washing machine. When I tell them I don't own one, they quickly offer something else like TV cover instead. Other times, the person on the other end just stays quiet and you only hear a quick "and goodbye" before the call ends. These calls come every single day around 9.30 in the morning, which gets pretty annoying.

This scam keeps switching it up, sometimes they say they're from D&G trying to renew your account, other times they claim to be from Sky or even the Spanish lottery. Before this, the same lot got called out in the Evening Standard for scamming folks and ended up in hot water with D&G. Watch out, this smells like a serious data leak!

He gave another number, 03330 090845, but she smelled something fishy. Luckily she's pretty sharp, but the guy was really pushy and quite intimidating, which left her a bit rattled. I got a call about some washing machine warranty costing like £65 a year. When I said I wasn’t interested, she suddenly said there’d be a £50 cancellation charge taken from my bank since I hadn’t told them to cancel. I told her that was nonsense because there’s a 14 day cooling off for this kind of insurance. Then she just hung up on me.
