Got a call about some insurance or warranty deal, sounded dodgy to me. I reckon you should report these calls straight to the police. Just search for 'action fraud' on Google, pick the 'police.uk' site, then head over to their 'reporting' page. There's a form there to flag it as phishing. Honestly, it’s quicker than leaving a comment here and you don’t even need to sign up or anything. Definitely better to get it on record with the authorities.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Sky Protect, much like another one I read about here. They mentioned my insurance was up for renewal and tried to pitch a deal, which I turned down. Then they asked what card I’d be using to pay. I just said I’d pay like I always do. The bloke then gave his name as John Glen and left a number, 01273 977458, to ring if I had any issues. Needless to say, I’m not planning on calling that number anytime soon!

I received a rather peculiar phone call from a lady identifying herself as Jacinda, from a company called Premier Protect Insurance. She claimed that the insurance on my washing machine had lapsed. Curiously, she mentioned my name, but I had to inform her honestly that I do not possess any insurance cover for my washing machine, nor was I familiar with the company she purported to represent. It certainly struck me as a scam operation!
