Just got a call from 01273091182 claiming to be from my washing machine insurance provider. They seemed to know quite a bit about my details, which was quite unsettling. They asked for my card expiry date but wouldn’t specify which card - just said it started with a 4. I also checked the contract end date they mentioned, which was supposedly today, but it’s actually due to expire at the end of the year. Be cautious out there! I didn’t share any info and told them to send anything by post, but I never gave them my address.

I got a call from 01273091180 about renewing my Sky breakdown cover. The bloke on the line spoke with an Indian accent and knew my full name and address, which made it seem quite legit at first. I usually get loads of dodgy calls but this one sounded a bit more convincing. Then, after their sales spiel, they handed me over to a woman, again with an Indian accent, who asked for my credit card info to sort out the renewal. That’s when I clocked it was a scam and put the phone down.
