Had a call from someone with a strange accent claiming my washing machine guarantee had expired and offering to renew it. I get loads of dodgy calls like this, so I just thought it was another scam.

As soon as I picked up, the person on the other end just dropped the call.

So this bloke rings me up saying his name’s Harry and that he’s ringing about some insurance for my washing machine. He claimed he’d already sent some documents about covering it, but he just wouldn’t let me get a word in. I ended up raising my voice, telling him to stop wasting my time and that I wasn’t interested. Out of the blue, he calmly tells me to shove off in a much ruder way and hangs up straight away. Honestly left me a bit stunned after that.

I got a really cheeky bloke on the phone who kept telling me I had to listen to him. He was going on about a washing machine and claimed he’d been speaking to my late wife! I told him she died two years back and didn’t hold back on telling him exactly what I thought of him. Definitely planning to lodge a complaint with BT and ask them to disconnect the line.

Even though my security setup stopped the call, the number was still saved because of BY Call Blocker. Cheers for that!

So, I got a new washing machine not long ago and when I tried to register it for a 10-year parts warranty, I got a call from this number about an hour later. Didn't pick up since I didn’t know who was calling. Just out of interest, I looked up the number online and saw loads of other folks leaving comments about it. Makes me wonder, is it just a fluke or have these scammers somehow got wind of my recent purchase?

This number popped up on my home phone earlier. I use Call Guardian, so they didn't manage to get through or even leave a voicemail. After reading plenty of reviews, I reckon blocking it is the best move now.
