Received a call from a rather unusual-sounding woman claiming to represent Virgin Media. The connection was truly dreadful, so I decided to end the call. Given the comments I've spotted, it seems like this could be one of those dodgy call centres or a scam. There have been mentions of Carphone Warehouse as well, which makes me wonder how it all connects. Surely, they can't be affiliated with both, can they?

I rang back to ask who it was, and they told me it was Carphone Warehouse. I told them I couldn't chat right now, and then they just gone silent and ended the call.

I got a phone call from 0118 311 1041 where the person on the line claimed to be from O2, trying to sell me unlimited calls, texts and data for £7 a month. They even asked me how much I was paying at the moment. I told them if they were really from O2, they’d already have that info and then I just hung up. Not long after, my phone rang again, this time from 0118 311 1031, and then yet another call came through from 01271 522016. Bit suspicious if you ask me!

Now, I’ve never even been an O2 customer, so I kept my wits about me. This cheeky fellow attempted to lure me into sharing personal details by dangling the enticing carrot of a discount on my non-existent O2 plan. BEWARE OF PHONE SCAMS! If you get dodgy calls, make sure you report them. Just search for ‘action fraud’ and head to the ‘police.uk’ website. From there, find the page about reporting phishing or scam calls and go through all the info carefully. You’ll be able to log the scam number and any details straight into the police system to help stop these fraudsters.

Had a call from 01271522016 claiming to be DHL, saying this was the final attempt to reach me about a parcel left uncollected. After that, there was some strange message in what sounded like either Japanese or Chinese, and the only clear bit was the word DHL. Definitely not ringing back. Originally, the voicemail mentioned HMRC, but now it looks like they’re just using DHL as a cover. I’d steer clear of this one.

Received a call claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse, and honestly, it felt like they wouldn’t let up. Despite me informing them that my number is registered on a do-not-call list, they just carried on. After I said I was done and tried to end the call, they rang me back from a different number, insisting we must have been cut off. I reiterated my lack of interest in sharing any personal information, but they wouldn’t take no for an answer. In the end, I had to tell him to bog off, and he replied that he’d add my number to some sort of complaint list. I thought, ‘Good luck with that,’ and hung up for good.
