I received a rather dubious call the other day from someone purporting to be from O2. They were trying to tempt me with an attractive deal on an iPhone 13 Pro Max, promising unlimited everything for just £40 a month. Naturally, I played along, and then they transferred me to a different agent who seemed keen on getting into my O2 account. To my astonishment, she insisted I share the security code that had been texted to me, specifically warning me not to disclose it to anyone pretending to be O2. The whole situation struck me as utterly ridiculous! I requested they send the offer via email so I could verify it myself, but, predictably, they just hung up. Quite the laugh, really.

Carphone Warehouse - Scam Alert I got a phone call yesterday from "01270311026," which came up as Leeds. After I decided to hang up, they rang me again today, this time from a number claiming to be from Barnstaple. The caller claimed they could offer me a fantastic deal - just a one-off payment of £35.99 for unlimited calls and texts over a span of 24 months. Intrigued, I stayed on the line, intentionally providing them with made-up details to see what they were after. Here’s a list of the rather personal questions they asked: - My full name - Date of birth - My current address - Whether I rent or own my home - My occupation - My sort code - My account number - The long card number from my debit card. They even mentioned that an item would be delivered right to my doorstep. I honestly can’t fathom how anyone would fall for this nonsense, as it's painfully obvious that they’re not very convincing at all!

I absolutely concur, it was quite difficult to understand them; they seemed to mention something about "phonehouse" or perhaps "house phone" - it was all a bit muddled when I requested clarification. I decided to hang up and upon further investigation, my initial doubts were indeed validated. Cheers for that! From what I've gathered, they’re likely just rather poor impersonators, much like what others have mentioned. It really makes me wonder when they'll finally put a stop to these nuisances!

Got a call from this number but as soon as I picked up, the line just went dead. Sounds a bit like one of those dodgy robo calls to me. I rang them back and some automated voice came on talking about a telecom company I'd never come across before, couldn’t really make out the exact name. The message asked me to press 1 to talk to customer support and gave an email address ending in @gmail.com which is a bit of a red flag in my book. Tried searching the number online but nothing came up, so I reckon this might be a scam or some fake outfit using this number.
