Got a call from them out of the blue, no idea what it was about, then suddenly a robot started talking to me.

i got a call from someone claiming to be with o2 saying i'd been picked for a 50% loyalty discount. they sent me a couple of texts that popped up in the same chat as my usual o2 messages. one was a security alert and the other had a one-time code. they seemed to have all my info - like my address, postcode, email, and even my tariff details. when they asked for the answer to my security question, i told them i wasn’t comfortable sharing it. then they asked for the last four digits of my o2 account, which i didn’t know, so they moved to an option asking for the last four digits of my card. i gave them four digits from an old account number instead. shortly after this, i got a text saying my o2 password had been changed, then another saying a wifi service had been added to my account. they confirmed i’d be paying half my current tariff. the call got cut off just as they were explaining, but then they rang back from a different number with another area code and finished their spiel. to top it off, they said i’d been selected for a free gift hamper with a galaxy gaming tablet and just asked me what colour i preferred before thanking me for my time.
