It took them about 3 minutes just to say hello. Then they started going on about me needing help with my computer (which I don’t even have). When I asked what they meant, they got really rude, started swearing and even called me names. I just had a laugh and ended the call.

The caller had really bad English and ignored everything I said. Kept insisting I’d requested help with some software trouble on my laptop. When I asked which company he was calling from, he just mumbled some words in another language and hung up. I’d seriously advise anyone you know, especially older folks who use computers or iPads, to just hang up if they get calls like this.

This morning, precisely at 10:06, I received a call from a woman with a rather pronounced Indian accent, claiming to be from Microsoft Support, warning me that my computer was riddled with malware. I feigned ignorance for a short while, after which a man with a similar accenta took over the conversation, instructing me to press certain key combos. I continued to act oblivious for a bit longer, before revealing that I've been in the IT field for over two decades and had noted down his number - 01254 785471 - intending to report their antics. Unsurprisingly, they promptly ended the call. - Caller: Microsoft Support!!!

Got a call from some dodgy company pretending to do a "security check" - the guy claimed I'd picked up some untraceable viruses online. I told him my computer was fine, but he kept insisting and said he needed to install some new software update. I told him again it wasn’t needed, and then he just ended the call.

Got a bloke on the phone claiming he's from Microsoft, sayin' we weren’t gettin’ updates on the PC. He asked me to go over to the computer and open the desktop. I played along, pretending to do it. Then I told him I couldn’t find the ‘Windows key’ on the keyboard between the Ctrl and Alt keys. He kept trying to make me check stuff but I acted clueless on purpose. After a bit he just hung up! Total SCAM - he wanted me to download somethin’ sketchy and guide me through my computer settings. Definitely report this call right away!!

This call says ur downloading a virus and they need to get into ur computer - they never ask u for passwords but if u type them in, they can see them. Dont delete any files!! Just take your computer to a trusted repair shop.

Some bloke with an Asian accent rang me claiming there was an issue with my Microsoft account or something. Started going on about my email address and all that. I played along for a while till he cottoned on that I was taking the mick, then he just ended the call. Didn’t seem too chuffed about it. Shouldn’t have disturbed me when I was just messing about!

Total scam! The bloke claimed to be from tech support so I asked him which company and he said Microsoft. I told him I don’t even own a computer, but he accused me of lying just because I supposedly have a BT account (which I definitely don’t!). I told him to wipe my info from their records and stop calling, as I'm allowed to under GDPR, but he flat out refused. Clearly, he’s not following the law. I’ve blocked the number now.

The person on the phone spoke with an Asian accent. She claimed to be from some "tech support" and told me my computer was infected. I said I didn't have any virus and she accused me of lying. I kept insisting there was nothing wrong and mentioned I'm on the TPF register and that I'd be reporting the call as a scam. She ended the call pretty quickly after that.

Got a silent call, they hung up before I could even answer so I blocked it using BT Call Protect. Funny thing is some of these calls show one number on the screen but if you block it, a completely different number pops up next time. These scammers are well cunning, trying to hide where they’re really calling from. Been getting loads more of these calls as Christmas gets nearer.. watch out everyone!!

Just like mentioned before, I let the bloke carry on with his spiel just to keep him chatting so he couldn’t try his tricks on anyone else. He claimed he was fixing my computer 'cause I’m a big Microsoft client - I told him I actually use Apple and out of nowhere he called me a fibber and hung up on me. Honestly, these lot ought to be behind bars!

Got a call from some bloke saying my PC was downloading things behind my back. This happens to me almost every week, so I knew straight away it was a con.
