Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming there were some complaints and asking who was using the internet at my place. I responded, bit cheekily, "Are you gonna cut it off again?" He said no. I told him I wasn’t going to answer and wanted to end the call. Then he threatened, “I’ll come round to your house.” I just laughed and hung up straight away.

First, I got a call on my mobile from someone pretending to be with BT. Afterwards, my landline buzzed but I didn’t pick up. When I checked this site, loads of folks were saying they’re scammers. I’ve decided not to answer any landline calls now. I’m ex-directory so how do these people even find my number? It’s baffling.

I received a call from this number around half-eight in the morning. I picked up after a couple of rings, but there was just silence on the other end. The folks in my circle rarely ring at that time, and I can't imagine any genuine UK business would be ringing at that hour, unless there was a tradesman expected at the house. So, this lady named Kate from BT rang me, said she was in Newgate Street, London. Weird thing is, she had an accent that sounded like she was from India or Pakistan, and then she mentioned a Blackburn number? Very confusing!

This bloke with a strange accent rang me up and somehow knew my name. Felt a bit dodgy, so I told him he’d got the wrong person. Next thing, he starts shouting all sorts of horrible insults at me. When I asked who he was, he just kept on swearing and being rude. Proper awful behaviour.

I’m pretty certain it was a scam, I just ended the call straight away. They’ve rung a couple of times before. I live out in the sticks where BT can’t even supply proper lines - it’s all ancient copper wiring here and my internet actually comes through a radio link. So when someone claims to be from BT, it’s obviously a load of rubbish. These callers are super annoying and sometimes quite pushy. Best thing I do is just cut the call and report them to Action Fraud.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with British Telecom, but it was clearly fake. The bloke knew my name and said there was some kind of issue with routers around here getting blocked. I cut him off quick, told him it was a load of rubbish and that we don’t even use BT. Asked him to remove us from their call list, but he refused and the call just dropped. We’ve blocked the number now anyway.

Exercise caution, everyone! I recently had a rather unsettling encounter with someone who identified themselves as “B T.” When I inquired about their name, the individual claimed to be Mark Marcus. Upon asking for a contact number, they provided 020123 followed by a quick mention of “free or 3” before abruptly hanging up. Got loads of calls today from some scam number saying I owe £600 and to press 1 for my bank. I just ended the call straight away, didn’t want anything to do with it. I’ve told my bank and also reported the number - reckon they’ve called me like 30 or 40 times! Gave all the info to the folks in Sunderland today.

what a bunch of scammers - they keep calling pretending to be bt and say openreach told them my phone line’s being hacked. their goal is obviously to get into your network. i’ve had loads of calls like this before. if you don’t follow their instructions, they just threaten to cut your line and then hang up on you. seriously, stay clear of them!

Got a call from a lady with a bit of a thick accent, said she was from BT and my router had a fault or something. Kept asking what devices I had connected. I said if there’s a problem, you should know what’s wrong, not me. Then she asked if I had Sky or anything like that. I just said I don’t have any and ended the call.

My landline rang at 9.45 in the morning but I didn’t pick up, and then the caller just dropped the call. I hardly ever pick up anymore because of all the annoying scam calls I get.
