01253484029 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01253484029 👆 is reported as a persistent and intrusive scam call linked to purported home appliance insurance renewals, frequently impersonating well-known companies but offering fraudulent services. Callers often use local UK numbers, despite sometimes calling internationally, and employ tactics such as pressuring for payment details, claiming to extend or renew warranties, or referring to non-existent policies. Many complainants note repeated calls, including silent or pre-recorded messages, targeting vulnerable individuals such as the elderly. Blocking attempts are often ineffective due to number spoofing or frequent number changes. The general consensus advises ignoring these calls, not sharing personal or payment information, and reporting the incidents to relevant authorities like the ICO or police fraud services for proper action.

I recently checked my latest BT landline bill, and I noticed a peculiar charge. On the 8th of August, 2022, at precisely 10:25, it shows I've called this number for just a single second, yet it cost me 23 pence. I seriously don’t remember placing that call and I’m not happy about being billed for it.

They keep ringing me up insisting on renewing some home appliance insurance I never asked for. I've told them over and over that I neither need nor want it. Honestly, I reckon they must be either totally thick or just can’t hear a word I say.

This number 01253 484 029 has been bothering my mum who's in her late 60s. She kept apologising and saying she didn't get what they wanted. She asked them to ring back when her son or daughter is around since they handle all her stuff.

Got a call from Domestic & General claiming they'd prolong my insurance from 2 years to 3. They then asked for the expiry date on my card and my email address, but I just ended the call. Sounds like a classic scam, just like loads of others have mentioned.

I got a call from a woman with a South African accent offering discounts on my home appliances, saying they're linked to all the household insurance providers. The lady sounded really polite and knew my name and landline, but they messed up by mentioning my old address I moved from 16 years ago. I told her I'd consider it and asked for her contact number; she gave me this one (not planning to call): 0222 7711 067. The call actually came from 0125 348 4029. Seems like they’re pretty sneaky and dishonest.

I never got the chance to pick up when this number called, it just stopped ringing before I could. Seeing all the comments saying it might be a scam, I’m relieved I didn’t answer. The call came from a landline based in Blackpool.

SCAM - Got a call from someone saying they were with Domestic Appliance about the three appliances I supposedly had covered with them. I told him I didn’t have any, but he kept insisting the covers were just extensions of the original manufacturer’s warranty. My oven's been around for more than 30 years - pretty sure it’s long out of any manufacturer’s warranty by now!

This number keeps calling me over and over again at the same times! Luckily, I have an answering machine, so I never bother picking up. Usually, it’s a lady trying to talk to someone called Richard. First clue: nobody named Richard lives at my place! And second, we never pay for any “extras” when buying white goods. If the appliances break or get slow, we just replace them! These scammers must be pretty desperate, trying to make quick cash like this!

Got a call supposedly about renewing my kitchen appliance cover with Domestic & General. Immediately felt off since it came from a call centre. Played along for a bit until they asked for my card info. I told them I'd send a cheque once I got the contract through - couldn’t help but test them on that. To my surprise, they claimed cheques weren’t accepted. That’s when I ended the call, hopefully eating up some of their pointless time. Honestly, don’t get why landline numbers are given out so easily to these kinds of firms without proper checks.

It’s always a woman on the line, wanting to talk to someone called Richard. First thing - there’s no Richard in my house! Second, we never pay for any “extras” on our white goods. I had quite the unexpected phone call from a chap claiming to be from Domestic and General! It didn't take long for me to realise it was nothing more than a scam. He kept pushing a so-called discounted rate valid until 2025, which honestly made no sense, especially since I don't own any products from them! The number that rang me was 01253484029. Quite the dodgy business, if you ask me!

Oh, here we go again with another dodgy domestic gadget con! They had the audacity to tell me I was eligible for some hefty discount because I hadn’t made a claim in ages. I keep getting persistent calls from this number, and every time I pick up, it’s just a recorded message telling me that they’ll try their luck again the following day. It’s infuriating! I've blocked them countless times, but as soon as I tidy up my blocked numbers, guess who pops up again? It’s beyond frustrating. You’d think the phone company would step in and put a stop to these endless nuisance calls, especially on a landline. What’s the point of having a block feature if it doesn’t actually work?

They claimed to be from Domestic and General but that was a total lie. They told me my policy had run out and I needed to renew it. When I told them I’d already sorted it, they got really rude. Don’t trust these people, it’s definitely a scam, probably from some call centre in Asia.

Got a call from a guy with a clear Asian accent who somehow knew my name. When I asked which company he was from, he said "Domestic Appliance Insurance". I told him we don't have any insurance with them. Then I asked which appliances he meant, and he said “washing machine and fridge freezer,” but couldn’t tell me the brand of either.
