This wasn't the exact number, but quite close, 01248116707 from the same location. I got a voicemail claiming there was something important about an Amazon order I'd supposedly made, and it told me to press one to hear the message. I just ended the call straight away and then checked with BT call protect. They informed me the caller ID was blocked, but offered to quietly block the number for me, which I said yes to. Honestly, no idea what might’ve happened if I’d gone ahead and pressed one!

This number rang us about six times, but they never left a name or any details on our answer machine. I looked it up here and apparently, it’s linked to scammers.

I got a call from a woman speaking with a strong Far East accent claiming she was from TPS. She insisted she had to verify I was the account holder and asked for my card’s expiry date and the direct debit reference. Strange thing is, she already had my name, address, postcode, and phone number. After checking on this site, I realised it was just a scam trying to fish for my info.

I just ignored the call since the number was unfamiliar. Not surprised they didn’t bother to leave a voicemail. Lately, I’m getting about half a dozen calls like this every single day.

Got back from work today and the wife mentioned she got a call about 11 in the morning. The person on the other end was mumbling and hard to get, so she just ended the call. After reading these comments, it’s clear it’s probably a scam, so I’ll be reporting it to BT and the scam folks.

This number rang me twice today. The last time, a woman named Susan with an Indian accent said she was from the telephone preference service, asking if I was still getting annoying calls. I just walked off and left the phone while she kept talking. When I came back a few minutes later, the line was dead. Seems like some kind of scam to me. I’m really curious how they managed to get my name though. Proper frustrating.

On 25th April at around 10.30 in the morning, an Indian-accented guy rang up out of the blue. He claimed to be from some call blocking company. My mum asked him about the weather in India, but he said he was actually calling from London. He kept going on about call blocking. Funny thing is, earlier that day, mum had already got a dodgy call from a different number, which she blocked straight away.

Some bloke called himself David, sounded like he had an Indian accent, said he was from that telephone preference list. He knew my last name and asked if I was still getting cold calls. I told him a bit, mostly scams though. He said sorry about that, then asked if I handled the finances in the household, which I do. Then he asked if I was 75 years old - which I defo am not. That got a bit too personal for me, so I just ended the call there.

This was totally dodgy, kept asking questions and eventually got shuffled around to some manager bloke. When I told him to take my info off their list and end the call, he just wouldn't do it. Proper sketchy, watch out!

On the 25th of April 2019 at about 11:40 in the morning, I got a random call to my landline from 01248209515. The chap on the other end had an Indian accent and introduced himself as John, saying he was from the telephone preference service. It didn’t feel right to me, so I just hung up. Just a heads up, watch out for calls like this.
