Some lady called, asking straight away for our Managing Director by name. When I asked where she was ringing from, she just wouldn't say. I explained he wasn't available but could take a message if she told me where she was calling from. Her answer was 'my house' and then she just cut me off! Seriously rude behaviour - best steer clear. I thought about reporting her to her firm, but after seeing other comments, they probably wouldn't bother.

Someone rang from this number asking for one of our directors by name. When I told him that the director doesn’t work at this location, the bloke quickly said he’d drop an email instead. He was pretty curt and didn’t bother with any "please" or "thank you" whatsoever!

They keep ringing me up asking for the managing director and are really that cheeky about it. They keep saying they've called before, which isn’t true. I had a chat with them earlier but they’re so pushy, refusing to say which company they're from. When I won’t put them through, they start getting quite nasty. We’ve told them to stop phoning us, but they just won’t listen, so in the end, I had to report them.

I got a call from someone named Casey who wanted to talk to our MD, and she even knew his name. When I asked which company she was with, she just asked if he was free instead of answering properly. I asked again, but she said he knows her and I should just pass her on. I refused, and she just tutted and ended the call. Really rude and pretty abrupt way to behave.

Keep getting calls from Maria Clark over at Ripple. She rings loads and always switches up the number, sometimes it’s even blocked. Every time she wants to chat with the MD and acts like there's a call booked or that she’s just calling back. Got a call from Owen Davis at Ripple, he wanted to chat with the Director by name and mentioned he’d already had a word with him about a week ago with some updates. I told him I’m the PA and I’d never heard of him before, and suggested he send an email instead as the Director doesn’t take sales calls. Owen said he wasn’t trying to sell anything and that he’d call back later. I just told him good luck with that!

Had a really bad run-in with someone called Jessie Dixon, she was proper rude. I tried asking for the MD, told her he’d know what I was on about, but nope, he had no clue who Jessie was at all. When I said no to passing her on, she just got really nasty. Fair does, must be awful having a dead-end job like hers!

Some bloke called Adam from Adapt rang up and claimed he’d already been chatting to our MD, but he wouldn’t say why - even tho I’m a co-owner and director here! Then he got all moody and just hung up, saying he’d send an email to the MD. Good luck to him!

Got a call from Tom at Ripple who kept saying we chatted a few months back, which we never did. He just wouldn’t accept a no and was pretty pushy, ringing me up four times within an hour. Honestly, feels like harassment and a total annoyance.

So annoying, honestly. This morning, I got two calls from some James Brown. My managing director doesn’t ever answer the phone unless I screen the calls first - I’m familiar with everyone trying to get in touch with him. He was on a call earlier and then went out for meetings with clients. When James rang, he refused to tell me who he was with, so now my boss says I’m free to mess around with him if he rings back.

Beware, it’s definitely a scam! You can send the scam call details and the number to 7726. This helps mark the number as suspicious on your network, but it only kicks in if enough people report it to your phone provider. Make sure not to send genuine numbers to 7726 by mistake. Also, you can forward any scam texts you get to 7726, and it’s a good idea to email a screenshot of the text to the police at '[email protected]' to help with their investigations.

So this woman called me, said her name was Maria Clarke and claimed she was the MD or something. I asked where she was ringing from and she kept saying "he’ll know who I am". I pressed her for the company name but she just said again that he knows her. I told her I can’t connect the call unless she tells me which business she works for. Then she kept insisting he does know her. Turns out, I told her, that bloke is my husband! Honestly, she got a proper surprise when I said that! LOL.

Got a call from a bloke claiming he was Richard Hughes from Ripple. He kept harping on about wanting to speak to my manager about some phone conversation from like 6 or 7 weeks ago. When I asked exactly what it was about and what Ripple actually does, he got all defensive and told me he’d reach out another way. Sounds like a total scam to me.
