Had one of those quiet calls the other day, you know the sort where a machine rings you, then links the call to a handler when available. If you pick up and all you hear is silence, just say “hello?” (definitely don’t share your details) and if no one answers, just hang up straight away. It’s best to be cautious. Anyone genuinely trying to reach you will just try again later.

This scam is pretty common. They "sell" you a phone, you say yes, but what shows up is the wrong item. Then they tell you to send it back to some address. What you don’t realise is they’ve actually put your info down to get an iPhone contract for themselves. So, they end up with the phone, and you’re left stuck with a contract you never wanted and your credit score takes a hit. Proper dodgy stuff.

These lot are pretending to be the firm I work at (but their name is missin the s on the second word), defo a scam. If they mention the company’s name, best look up the real contact on the proper website. They used to ring us from a number in Barrow in Furness, saying they were from our place, but it’s all fake.
