Got a voicemail saying there's an "arrest warrant" out for me cos I've supposedly "defaulted with HMRC" - then it told me to "press one to chat with a case adviser".

They were pretending to be HMRC, I went along with it for a bit till they just dropped the call. I kept pushing for more of their address and name info, then when I joked about them sending the cops to arrest me, they ended the call straight away :)

Got a call from a woman with an African accent, sounded like a call centre in the background. Claimed to be from HMRC and asked for my name! I was a bit blunt with her and she just ended the call.

This number rang me around 9.30 in the morning. When I answered, there was complete silence, so I just ended the call. I’ve received loads of calls like this, not just from this number but others as well. Wish there was a way to block these outgoing calls! It was 8.29am on Christmas Eve when they started ringing - nice way to start the day! Got two calls on my home phone today from numbers I didn’t recognise. I’ve started letting all unknown callers go straight to voicemail, but of course, no message is ever left. Anyone genuine would leave one. I mark these numbers as ‘scam’ or ‘block’ and save them as new contacts, so next time their number pops up, I’ll know not to bother answering.

Some bloke rang up pretending to be from Microsoft, saying our computer was infected with ransomware and needed the CLS number to fix it. My mum answered, and when she mentioned she was on the Telephone Preference Service, he just ignored it like she was talking nonsense. He kept pushing for info, giving off the vibe he didn’t really care what she said. I told her to ask him what operating system she had since they supposedly knew so much, and their answer was totally wrong. My brother, who’s an IT manager, told us straight away that Microsoft or Google don’t make calls like that. I reckon Microsoft should really warn people on Windows about these scams, but the number he called from was dodgy from the start.

Got a call early morning around 8am from a lady saying she’s from Microsoft Windows, wanting to discuss some issue with my PC. I told her straight away I wasn’t comfortable talking about it, but she kept pushing. Then she asked if my computer is a Microsoft one, and I told her she must already know that since that’s the whole reason she called in the first place. That seemed to throw her off. She got quite agitated and claimed she was from Microsoft, warning me that if I didn’t confirm my details, she’d block my IP address! Right after that, she just hung up without letting me say anything back!

I get calls from this woman nearly every day, sometimes twice a day. I try to answer but usually let it ring 4 or 5 times because someone else usually picks up before me. When I tried to trace the number, it turned out to be a bought number, so nothing really wrong with it. Got calls from someone pretending to be Microsoft support. They try to get you to open event viewer via command prompt and then say a regular system file is some kind of virus or hack that must be deleted. After that, they try to get you to install their dodgy software to "sort it out". Had a few calls from different numbers like this. Proper scam.

I've gotten calls from this number as well, with someone pretending to be from Microsoft. The best thing to do if you want something done is to report it to the police’s Action Fraud team. They’ve got a website where you can make a report and a phone line you can ring on 0300 123 2040. I’ve already reported this number, but I’d really recommend others do the same, because the more reports they get, the better chance there is of them actually doing something about it.

Some bloke called sayin my computer's busted. This geezer from TPS doesn’t even own a computer. Proper waste of time.

This number 01234567891 keeps popping up on my landline, always scammers ringing me. They keep calling on my mobile too, it’s driving me crazy! I end up telling them I’ll call the POLICE and warn them not to bother again, but they don’t stop. It’s almost every day now, I’m losing my patience! Does anyone know how to block or stop these scam calls? This is the number I see on my caller ID every time one of these calls comes through on my landline.

Fraudsters pretending they’re from Microsoft! They say they need to sort out some problem on your PC by controlling it remotely, but really they’re just nicking all your private data. Proper nasty. Best thing to do is just cut them off and block the number if you can.

On the 16th of November, I got a call from this number, and the bloke on the other end sounded Asian. He said he was from the FBI - can you believe it? The Federal Bureau of Investigation, supposedly. What a load of rubbish. Total muppets.

Got a call from this number bright and early at 7:50 this morning, 10/11/16. It was a lady with an Asian accent claiming to be from Microsoft Windows. I told her off for ringing so early and told her to buzz off. She just hung up straight away, no surprise. These types of calls pretending to be from Microsoft happen to me loads. I thought BT was meant to be blocking these annoying calls by now.

Early this morning, just after seven, I got a call from an Asian woman saying she was with Microsoft. I told her right away I wasn’t going to fall for any scam and hung up. What a lot of daft people!

This number keeps ringing a 90 year old lady who’s got bad Alzheimer’s. They always phone early, like from 7:30am and it’s really annoying. We’ve asked them to stop so many times but they just carry on calling. It’s always someone with an Asian accent asking about a computer. We’ve explained the house is hers and her situation, yet they still keep phoning.

This number has rung me a few times now. It’s usually a woman with a Pakistani accent claiming to be from BT. Don’t fall for it, it’s a total scam. They managed to trick my neighbour out of £160! They always say there’s some issue with your computer and offer to fix it remotely. Complete rubbish. When I asked her who she was with, she said BT like usual. I told her to stop lying and called her out as a scammer, and before I could say anything else she rudely told me to f-off and hung up. If you get a call from this number with an Asian accent, just ignore it - it’s a scam, trust me.

This afternoon I got a call from a woman claiming to be Christine Wilson from Microsoft. She had an Asian accent and told me there was an issue with my Windows 10 PC. Obviously, I knew it was a scam so I just played along, keeping her on the line for about 20 minutes. She wanted me to let her access my computer to "fix" the problem - like that was ever gonna happen! Eventually, she got annoyed and just ended the call. Avoid this number if you can, seems like it’s some sort of fake or virtual line.

I’ve had enough of this number ringing me up. They claim they're from Microsoft Windows and tell me to turn my PC on so they can help fix some issues. When I asked what the actual problem was, they just went quiet. Then I tried to get their details, like their name, and they hung up straight away. About half an hour later, they called again saying it's not a scam - don’t believe a word of it!

THIS NUMBER IS DEFINITELY A SCAM, THEY CLAIMED TO BE FROM MICROSOFT WINDOWS (NOT TRUE) THEN SAID THERE WERE ISSUES WITH MY COMPUTER (TOTALLY FALSE) AND SAID THEY NEEDED ACCESS TO MY BUSINESS TO SORT IT OUT (ABSOLUTE LIE). Some bloke named Malcolm, who sounded quite pushy, called me the other day. As soon as I said we don’t have laptops or anything like that, he got all aggressive. I tried asking him for my name, but he just couldn’t tell me. Then I asked where the ID he mentioned came from, and again, no answer. He started shouting over me before hanging up when I laughed and said, “No idea how you’ve got an ID from a laptop that isn’t even ours.” These calls come through to me loads every day - anyone know how to block these numbers for good?
