Just got a call from this number here in the South Island of NZ. When I picked up, there was complete silence at first, then out of nowhere a robotic voice said "Goodbye" and hung up. Bit odd if you ask me.

Could anyone enlighten me as to who this might be originating from?

My elderly mum got a call from this number and I’m pretty sure it’s a scam just trying to dupe older folks out of their cash. I reckon the best thing is to be blunt, tell them to jog on straight away, and then just hang up without sharing anything at all. When are the authorities gonna start cracking down on these rotten scammers and give them a proper kicking? It’s about time something useful was done!
