I answered and heard "hello" being said twice, then suddenly an automated voice came on claiming if I had malware issues with my computer I should press 1 to speak with a so-called expert. I just hung up straight away after that.

Got a call earlier from someone saying I could get a free boiler because I’m on benefits, claiming it’s some gov scheme. These days, I’m getting loads of calls like this, mostly automated and with blocked numbers. It’s so annoying and feels like my privacy is being invaded. Can’t anyone do anything to put an end to these nuisance calls?

The bloke on the phone was really hard to understand, his accent was all over the place and it sounded like he was taking the mick. He kept saying something about my computer but it was so mumbley I lost track and just ended the call. Definitely didn’t seem genuine at all.

Got two calls on my mobile within five minutes from that number, but I ignored them. Seriously, no one normal should pick up calls from something like that, it’s just asking for trouble.

Tried to block this number through BT but it just comes up saying the number isn’t valid! Quite frustrating.

It was clear these individuals knew about our financial troubles and seemed in a position to lend a hand. However, the moment we began to probe further, he simply hung up on us.

We recently received a call from these chaps claiming that we've won a prize - a six-day trip to Australia, no less! To make matters more amusing, they addressed me as Mrs. Mackenzie. We played along for a bit on the phone, feigning interest, but ultimately hung up on them. What a cheek!

I recently encountered a company called 'Smart Getaways' that claims if you fork out $149 using your credit card, they'll send you a load of vouchers for budget accommodation throughout Australia and New Zealand. They were quite forthcoming with their details based in Melbourne, but as soon as we hesitated to share our personal information, their attitude took a downward turn. Quite off-putting, to say the least!

We've pressed '3' on our phone every time they call, and we've heard some woman, presumably named "Rachel," declare that we're supposedly removed from their calling list. Here's hoping that actually does the trick, as it's driving us absolutely bonkers!

Got a call from these folks today, but it didn't register on the answerphone. I tried giving them a ring back, only to hear, "You've reached an invalid number." How odd!

Then, about two hours later, I got a call again, this time the number showed up on my screen. They asked the same question but I just didn’t say anything. Another couple of hours passed and they called once more from the same number. I answered but stayed silent, all I could hear was a few times "hello". After that, I hung up straight away.

The message advised us to verify the region code and to try again. What a nuisance!

I got a call saying they're from Barclays, but the number kept changing a bit - usually 01234567890 or sometimes it had an extra zero at the start. Not sure why it's different each time.

It's hardly a shock that you can't reach them. Try saying the number out loud; it might help. A good tip to remember: always steer clear of calling numbers you're unfamiliar with!

Today, I got a call from someone introducing himself as Tony, but his accent was really strange and sounded foreign. He claimed there was an issue with my computer. I told him I couldn't chat because Wimbledon was playing on telly, and then he hung up straight away! As usual, I dialled 1471 to check the number, and surprise, surprise, it showed up as 001234567890. Yeah, right, like I’d believe that!

Got a call from some tosser today, didn’t even wait to hear what they wanted before I just cut them off - total scam, no doubt about it.

Like a few others have mentioned here, I got a call claiming to be from the "world wide web" saying my pc isn't working properly and offering to sort it out for me. I told the bloke I wasn’t familiar with his firm and that I only trust Microsoft for that kinda thing, then I just ended the call. Funny enough, just the day before, my computer caught the Zbot virus. Thankfully, I’ve changed all my passwords and Microsoft’s security has locked down the virus.

Got a call saying there’s a problem with my computer and they want to help fix it. They asked me to turn it on, like they didn't notice it was already running! Been hearing this same old story way too often. Shows how little they really know.

Got a ring from this number earlier, bloke spoke with a really heavy Indian/Pakistani accent and said his name was Kevin, claiming he was calling from the world wide web. I didn’t bother listening any longer and just ended the call.

Had a call from someone saying they were from the World Wide Web, claiming their records showed my computer had issues and their tech team needed access to fix it. I decided to quiz them a bit - asked what operating system I used, how they even knew I had a computer, what kind of device it was and all that. Then I told them if they were so sure about knowing me, they could just send a letter instead of calling. They refused that idea of course. So I flat out told them their info was completely wrong, called them out as liars, insisted they drop my number from their list and never ring me again. Knowing these types, they'll probably try again sometime, but I’m not wasting any more time - just hanging up straight away. Cheers to everyone who’s shared their experiences, it’s good to be warned about these sorts of scams.

Had a call from some firm called World Wide Web or something, saying my computer’s got a problem. Sounded fishy to me, so I told the bloke it was a scam and he just hung up on me. Total rubbish if you ask me.
