I recently had a rather amusing encounter with someone purporting to be from Carphone Warehouse, touting an enticing offer. This chap laid out the details of the promotion, but when I kindly informed him that I had no interest-especially as I've moved away from the UK-he seemed to have other ideas. He insisted, rather surprisingly, that I was indeed keen on the offer, despite my clear lack of enthusiasm. When I reiterated my disinterest with a bit more firmness, he boldly declared, “Sir, I believe you’re actually interested.” I couldn’t help but chuckle at his poor salesmanship and told him he really wasn’t very good at this, and that his methods were quite feeble. After a rather lengthy conversation, I wished him well and we eventually wrapped it up.
