I got a call on my phone from 03457456125 and they left a voicemail saying it was about life insurance. Weirdly, they gave a different number, 01226300092, to call back. Then they also told me to ring back on 03456032775. Seems fishy to me - since when does HSBC fake their own phone numbers like this? Feels dodgy.

It’s definitely HSBC, but sounds like the call’s coming from some back office crew working remotely.

I attempted to ring this number back, but all I got was an automated message saying the call couldn’t go through.

I got a call from a man with an Asian accent saying he was from HSBC. When I asked why he didn’t give any ID codes or verification, he just hung up instead of explaining. It all seemed a bit dodgy to me.

Had a couple of missed calls pop up on my mobile and another on the home phone. Seems like they know a bit more than they should. Bit suspicious - I've just gone ahead and blocked the number.

Got a call from this number, some guy with an Indian accent said he was from HSBC. He mentioned there was a security issue with my account and oddly enough, he knew my surname and birthday, then asked me to confirm the full date of birth. I cut him off right away - smelled like a scam. HSBC themselves say they never ring up asking for security info. Be careful out there, folks!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from HSBC with my name and address, but the accent was really hard to understand, sounded Indian. They rang once more today but I ignored it. Later, I checked with HSBC on their live chat and found out it was just a scam. Bit annoying, honestly. :(

I got in touch with HSBC and they told me nobody's attempted to reach me. Plus, they said that this number isn’t even registered in their system.

Someone rang me up with a strong Indian accent and wanted to check my date of birth and address at home. I got in touch with HSBC through their online chat and they told me the number wasn’t theirs at all, probably some sneaky phishing attempt.

i got a call from a woman who said she worked for hsbc bank. since i actually bank with hsbc, it caught my attention but something felt off. i purposely gave her a postcode that wasn't right, and she said it was incorrect and ended the call. i'm still a bit unsure if it was legit or maybe a scam!

I’m pretty sure that was HSBC calling. The man on the line, sounded Indian, and he mentioned my recent account closure request without me giving any info first. He just needed me to verify my home address. Also, I noticed I had a missed call yesterday from 00441924810047, which seems to be an HSBC contact.

Had a call from HSBC, seemed legit and they never asked me for any personal info or anything. Just a genuine check-in, I guess.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from HSBC about some issue with my payment details. She wanted me to verify the last part of my postcode, but when I asked what was wrong with the payment, she just said she'd send me a letter. Seems odd since HSBC usually calls from 0800 numbers, not a Barnsley area code.

Today I got a ring from a woman claiming it was about my credit card. Before she could ask for any security info, I cut her off. I told her to show some ID and asked for a proper bank number I could call back on, 'cause I only trust official bank contacts.

Got a call saying it was from HSBC, they were looking for my son. Told me to have him call 03057404404. Yeah right, like I’m gonna do that. Maybe I should've given them my details too? As if... total scam!

Got a missed call from this number and it struck me as odd since I’m based in the States, so it counts as an international call. I still keep a bank account with HSBC, but they’ve never reached out by phone like this. Just a heads up, even after a year since folks first warned about this, calls from this number keep coming through. It’s probably a VOIP number pretending to be from the UK, so watch out!

Got a call from someone saying they were HSBC, mentioning some post was sent back to them because of my old address. Sounds like a real HSBC number to me.

Early this morning around 8:15, I received a call from this number pretending to be from HSBC. It raised suspicions straight away since it was outside normal banking hours, even though the caller had both my husband’s and my full names. She said it was about some signed request we supposedly made, which was a red flag because we never requested anything like that. I told her that and ended the call quickly as I’d just stepped out of the shower and was soaking. Later on, I started wondering if it might actually be a genuine security check and that someone could be trying to do something dodgy pretending to be us. So, I called 1471 to check who the number really belonged to and then looked it up online. It turns out others have reported the same voice - a lady with a really hard-to-understand Indian accent...

I let the phone ring out and only later had a look at the voicemail. They said they were calling from HSBC and wanted me to ring back. I can’t think why my bank would be phoning me like that. I decided not to call them back at all. Sounds dodgy to me - probably some kind of scam or phishing attempt.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with HSBC. They wanted me to verify details like the last part of my postcode and my birthday. I told them I wasn’t giving that info. The woman on the line had a strong Indian accent and her English wasn’t great. She then gave me a reference number and said I could use it at any branch to find out why they called. Sounds dodgy to me - definitely don’t share your personal info with them!

Got quite a few emails about moving stocks from HSBC to some company close to where we work. Didn't bother with them at all. Then this number called me up about the same stock transfer thing. Tried to mess about on the call to show it was clearly a scam, but the lady spoke such poor English I gave up as she just didn’t get what I was on about.
