I got a call from 01225 690690. It was a scammer pretending to be from Auto Trader who cleverly phoned me back showing an Auto Trader number. A woman named Maria Hammersmith said she was from Auto Trader and claimed there was a glitch causing me to be charged twice, so if I gave her my card info she’d refund me. She assured me Auto Trader doesn’t keep card details. Then she rang again and my phone showed 0345 111 0003, which is actually Auto Trader’s real number. I felt something was off so I cancelled my card and didn’t lose any cash. Just thought I’d warn others about this con.

Loads of calls coming from this number. Sounds like it's some kinda customer feedback thing? I told the bloke I was busy and to take me off the list. Today alone, they've already made four attempts, kicking off with a call at 8:10 in the morning and wrapping up with one just now at 20:25. Fortunately, I have caller ID, so I’m not picking up. Got calls from the same number six times over a couple of days. I came up with a new trick before blocking them: told them it was my brother's phone and he’d recently passed away, hoping they'd stop calling. The first time they sounded sorry and said sorry, but on the second call even after mentioning the owner was dead, they just started shouting at me. A chap rang my missus, but she couldn't catch what he was saying, so he rudely asked if she was deaf. I then took over the call, and he cheekily invited me to 'have a go' with his balls. I politely declined, remarking that they'd probably be too small for my liking. After that, I simply hung up.

I got a ring from 01225 690012. Told the bloke I was busy and couldn’t chat right now, and he just started yelling all sorts of insults at me. Called me a dumb MotherF####, but honestly, he was the one acting daft. Anyway, I stayed calm while he began pressing buttons like he was gonna play some music for me. So, being polite, I pressed some buttons back and then ended the call. Bet he got a kick out of that.

Got a call from someone claiming to be doing a "UK Consumers Survey" - they already knew my name and just went on like they absolutely detested their job, trying to confirm my personal details. I told him to stop, and then he just hung up. NEVER admit to be that person. From now on, my first response to any random caller will be asking them questions first. I’m worried this might make me get even more spam calls since it shows they got some legit info on me. Probably time to change all my passwords - feels like they’re phishing and checking if their info is correct.

These idiots keep ringing me up out of the blue all the time. I told them every time they call this number, they need to say their name, company, and why they’re calling first, then I’ll decide if it’s worth passing on to the phone’s owner. I also told them I’m not about to share who owns the number, that’s private info. They hung up on me, but I’ve called back loads of times since and just don’t bother picking up their calls anymore. The authorities really ought to stop these jerks from making these annoying calls.

They rang me 6 times today. When I finally answered, they already had all my info and said the call was being recorded, but never said who they were or where they were calling from. Kept pestering me to answer some consumer survey and listen to their sponsors. I asked what the call was for and they just ended the call straight away. I've blocked the number now.

I recently received a rather persistent phone call from someone with an Indian accent inquiring about a certain Mrs Hamed (apologies if I’ve misspelt it). He stated that he had dialled the wrong number and proceeded to ask whether I was the owner of this phone. He claimed there might be some technical issues and insisted on asking me a few consumer-related queries, assuring me it wouldn’t take too much of my time. Feeling rather unwell and not in the mood for such calls, I explained that it wasn’t a good time for me. Despite that, he kept pushing, saying it would be quick. Ultimately, I told him I don’t engage with calls like this and hung up on him. Fingers crossed I don’t have to deal with that again!

I asked her where she got that info from, since both are supposed to be secret. She said it was from a “public database”.
