I received a call from someone who was not looking for the person they asked for, and then proceeded to discuss a car accident. Despite my repeated dismissal and explanation that I am registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS), the caller continued to talk. Like the others mentioned, a guy with an ethnic accent called, said his name was Garry or Harry, just couldn’t catch him properly. When I asked how they got my number, he just kept quiet. Got a call from a market research firm asking about accidents and other stuff via a survey. I reckon they use some kind of internet dialler which hides the real phone number. Seems like a usual trick for offshore call centres, coz if you try calling back, the number just won’t go through.
