These two numbers, +44 12 1681 3300 and +44 20 7247 7697, kept ringing my mum’s mobile early in the day. They told her she was facing arrest for not paying taxes and had to cough up cash within half an hour or they’d issue a warrant. It really upset her and brought her to tears. Luckily, I soon figured out it was a total con and we shut those numbers down.

Got a phone call from someone saying they were with HMRC, saying I needed to get a criminal lawyer because I'd been dodging taxes. Then the caller abruptly hung up, shouting something about the police coming to arrest me.

I got a call like this the other day. They told me to press 1, then mentioned something about Birmingham Crown Court. The caller said, "I'll ring you back from this number," and that "this call is being recorded." They claimed I was about to be arrested for some error linked to me or an old employer. They quickly added, "Don’t worry, we know it’s not your fault." Then came the threat: I could either attend court and face up to five years inside plus a £29,000 fine, or… here’s the catch! They offered to settle it for £1,980, saying it can be fully refunded later - usual nonsense. While on the phone, I quickly looked up the number online and found identical reports from others. As soon as they started to figure out what to do when I said I didn’t have that kind of money, I began recording. I asked if it was alright to share the recording with my lawyer and they casually said "yeah, no problem," before suddenly cutting off. Real scam.

Got a call from 02082871522 and when I picked up, it was some automated voice claiming I was wanted for HMRC criminal offences. It said to press 1 to speak with an officer. When I did, a woman with a foreign accent answered and told me I owed £1980 in unpaid tax and that Birmingham Crown Court had issued a warrant for my arrest. She asked how I usually pay my taxes and even gave me a Birmingham number, 0121 681 3300, to sound legit. She told me to look up the arrest warrant online for proof. While she was talking, I checked the 0121 number and found out it was a scam. I told her what I’d found and she just hung up. Wasted five minutes of my time and gave me a headache. Absolute scumbags, watch out for these scammers!

This person pretended to be from HM Revenue and Customs, just like I've read in other posts. They told me I supposedly owed £1900 in taxes and warned that my bank account would get frozen and I'd be arrested if I didn’t sort it out. She kept talking over me, but when I managed to say I’d ring HMRC myself, she just cut the call. Honestly, their tone and way of speaking didn’t seem very clever, so I had a bad feeling it was a scam!

I just got a call from this number saying I had a warrant out for my arrest over tax evasion. I got a call from 02070560028 at first, with someone saying the Birmingham Magistrates Court had filed a claim against me. Then they passed me on to someone else. When I asked how I could verify who they were, they rang me back from 01216813300. They went on to say I was being accused of tax evasion and that all my assets were frozen. Then, the same number phoned again with the exact same story. The caller didn’t sound like they were local. I told them I’d be reporting it to my local police station.
