There was quite a bit of noise in the background and it took a moment for the person to answer. They sounded Indian but had one of those English names you wouldn’t expect (can’t remember exactly what it was). They were trying to get me to participate in a survey about home insurance.

I have to say, this stinks of a scam. I received a call from a chap with a heavy foreign accent claiming I was owed a refund of £190 for a washing machine service contract. When I requested the name of the manufacturer so I could confirm his legitimacy, he completely sidestepped my question. I pressed him again, and instead of answering, he gave me this peculiar analogy about being a school principal who couldn't name every student. At that point, it was clear as day that he was up to no good. I told him not to bother me again and promptly hung up.

I got a call from a guy who spoke with a really thick foreign accent, saying I was due a refund of £190 for some kind of service contract on my washing machine. I asked him what brand my washing machine was to check if he was legit. He just brushed past the question at first, so I repeated it. Then, instead of answering, he went off on a tangent about how if he was a school head, he wouldn’t be expected to remember every pupil's name. That was a clear sign he was pulling a scam, so I told him not to call back and ended the call straight away.

For weeks now, this number has been ringing me nearly every day. I answered once and kindly told them to stop ringing me, making it clear I wasn't interested in their scam, but it didn’t make any difference. Nowadays, I just let it ring out and go to voicemail, letting them burn through credit for no reason. It really upsets me thinking about older and vulnerable folks who get caught up in these terrible scams. Honestly, I can’t imagine how these people live with themselves, knowing the stress and fear they cause to others.

I could hear loads of people in the background making the same sort of calls. It’s ridiculous, you’d think the police could just drop by their place and shut it down! Don’t be daft and fall for this dodgy scam!

I recently requested a refund of £119.00 for a washing machine warranty. When I inquired about the manufacturer's specifics, they took a wild guess at Bosch, which was totally incorrect, and also wanted to know when I made the purchase. Naturally, they're eager to obtain my banking information, seemingly so they can empty my account at their convenience.

They addressed me by my name and claimed they were processing a refund for my washing machine. Naturally, I inquired about the brand and the date of purchase. Just as I was about to get more information, the call dropped. I'm noticing these sorts of calls are becoming alarmingly common, but I’m resolutely not sharing any personal details. It’s ringing alarm bells for me-definitely a scam!

I received a call about a £119.00 refund for my washing machine's warranty. The chap on the line had a distinctly Asian accent and there was a cacophony of conversations in the background - it felt rather dodgy. When I firmly stated that I wasn't comfortable sharing any account information over the phone, he insisted they were prohibited from requesting such details. I suggested that if this was a legitimate matter, they should simply mail me a cheque to the address they must have on file. After that, I ended the call, feeling quite uncertain about the whole affair.

Got a call from an Asian bloke claiming I was owed some kind of refund for a washing machine warranty with Homecare. He had my name and address right, which was a bit creepy. Then he asked how I'd prefer to get paid, I told him a cheque since he seemed to know where I lived. But then he wanted to know if I had a cheque book. I told him he’d be the one needing a cheque book, not me. He called me stupid and just hung up on me. Tried ringing the number back, it said PTS services but no one picked up.

Got a call earlier today, another typical refund scam. They claimed to be from Homeserve and said they’d refund me £119. When they asked for my bank details, I just gave them some random digits. Then, they switched me over to another bloke who wanted the same info. I told him I’d already handed that out to his mate, but gave him the same fake numbers again. After a short chat, he just ended the call. At least I managed to burn a bit of their time, but honestly, these scammers are properly risky.

I received a call from an outfit claiming to be Alex HOMECARE, stating I was owed a refund. The chap had quite the thick Eastern European accent. I mentioned I’d ring him back, and he gradually provided me with this number: 01902637165, which I suspect is completely fabricated. Interestingly, he didn’t hide his own number, which matches the one listed here: 0121 661 7457. Definitely sounds like a scam to me!

I got a call from 01216617457 saying I might be able to get £119 back for a washing machine service. Something about a refund they wanted to sort out.

I told them they were from Homeserve and that sounded like a scam, then they said they wouldn’t ask me for any card details and just ended the call on me.

Got a call from 01216617457 about a refund of £119 because supposedly I paid too much for my washing machine warranty. They knew my full name and address, which really freaked me out. Totally sounds like a scam to me!

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying I was owed a £119 rebate. I told her not to try and fool me, I’m not that gullible. Then she just hung up on me.

Today around 2 in the afternoon, got a call from a young lady named Sharon, sounded Asian. She kept saying we’re due £119 back from some washing machine warranty overpayment. When we told her to just drop the money off in an envelope, she started asking for our bank info instead. We then asked her for her full name and number but she just hung up on us. Weird call.

Got a call about some supposed refund on a washing machine warranty, sounded dodgy right from the start. The line was all crackly, making it hard to catch what they were saying. I told them I had no idea what they were on about since I’ve never even bought a washing machine. After I said that, they just ended the call on me. Definitely a scam in my book.

Got a call saying I was due a refund because I’d supposedly paid too much for my washing machine. They asked for my debit card details, then the line went dead. They phoned back, but I told them the police were with me. Handed the phone to my partner, who then just ended the call. Now, the same number has rung again - they really won’t give up!

Some woman called me saying they’d accidentally taken money from my bank for a washing machine warranty. She claimed they had to give me the cash back. Thing is, I don’t even have a warranty on a washing machine. I told her I wanted the refund in cash, then she just hung up.

Got a call from an Asian lady but she hung up before I even picked up. Definitely felt like a scam, so I've gone ahead and blocked the number.

I had a rather peculiar phone call from this number earlier today. The caller mentioned my name straight away and launched into a spiel about some sort of refund. However, they seemed to fumble their words, almost as if they were struggling to remember what to say next. Before I knew it, the line went completely silent.

Got a call from someone claiming to represent a washing machine insurance firm, saying I was owed a refund. But he totally messed up the brand of my machine! Definitely felt like a scam.

Had a rather dubious phone call today claiming that I'd overpaid £119.00 on my washing machine insurance, and if I shared my bank information, I'd supposedly get my money back right away. Absolute nonsense and a complete con!

Just got a call about giving me money back for a washing machine warranty - problem is, I’ve never even bought one! Total scam if you ask me.

Got a call from some bloke named Sean, sounded Asian, saying I'd overpaid £119 for washing machine cover. Same old story everyone else mentioned. Told him to send the money back to my bank account. Total scam, watch out!

Got a call from a woman with a heavy accent, sounded like a typical scam call centre, loads of background noise. She claimed I could get a whopping £119 back on a washing machine warranty, like others have said here. I played along for a laugh, asked for their bank details so they could "pay" me. I obviously wasn’t gonna give them anything. When I told her to just send a cheque instead, she immediately hung up. Absolute muppets. Makes me sad thinking about older folks who might fall for this and hand over their details to these con artists.

They kept wanting me to say Mrs Mary my middle name and the second I asked who it was, they just cut off! This number rings me loads.

I’ve been plagued by this dubious homecare business regarding a £119 refund that they’re supposedly supposed to issue. They've contacted me twice now, the latest call coming from an Asian gentleman who seemed quite persistent. Earlier, I had a conversation with someone from 0121 270 3735 about this very same matter. This chap was keen to obtain my bank details, to which I firmly suggested that he send a cheque instead. He kept harping on about the numerous refunds he needed to handle, but I wasn’t having any of it! I eventually told him he was up to no good and promptly hung up on him.

Got another call from this persistent refund scammer, sounded like a woman with an Asian accent. When she asked if it was me, I said "who’s asking?" and she just hung up right away. Been getting calls from this number a bunch over the last few days, annoying as hell.

Received a rather peculiar call not long ago, claiming that I was owed some money back for appliance insurance on my washing machine. I wouldn't entertain it for long, especially since I don't even have such insurance. The chap abruptly ended the call when I showed no interest in his spiel!

Got a ring from this number earlier, saying I could get some kind of refund for a dishwasher warranty that was supposedly wrongly charged to my card. Let them carry on for a bit, then they asked for my bank details. Of course, total scam! It’s awful to think folks could actually fall for this kind of rubbish!

I received a phone call from this number, claiming to be from Homeserve, and they mentioned that I was due a refund for an appliance I’m insured with them. However, I decided to reach out to my insurance provider to verify this, and they assured me that this particular number is indeed part of a scam. They’re investigating the matter further.

Got a ring from someone saying I could get £119 back on a washing machine warranty. Thing is, I don’t even have a warranty! They just kept cutting me off, sounded like they were reading from a script or something. Could hear loads of noise in the background, like a call centre or whatever. I wasn’t shy about telling them to buzz off and to never call me again before hanging up. Pretty sure it was a total scam.

Just got a call from someone claiming they wanted to give me £119 back for an old washing machine I bought like 6 years ago, said I overpaid or something. When they asked for my bank info, I told them to send the cash to Ukraine instead. They just went "as you want" and then ended the call. Honestly, these scammers should be really embarrassed, why not find a proper job instead of messing about like this?

I was just trying to get their address and they went off calling me racist! Turns out it was some call centre trying to “refund washing machine insurance”. If you start asking them stuff, they get really rude.

Got a call from 01216617457 the other day. It was an Asian bloke asking about the name of the person who used to live here, apparently the previous owner who passed away about 20 years back. He mentioned something about a Homeserve deal, I reckon it’s just a scam trying to get going. Seems dodgy to me!

Got a call about getting a refund for my washing machine warranty, but the moment I asked some questions they just cut me off. Totally a scam, watch out! I’m pretty sure if I had stayed on the line they would've tried to get my bank info or something dodgy like that.
