There’s this Asian lady who calls me a couple of times each week, and her accent sounds a bit off. It’s getting really irritating now.

I've had a couple of calls from this number but no voicemail left. We usually ignore calls from numbers we don't know. They're pretty annoying, really wish I could block them.

I've received a message claiming there's a refund waiting for us, but it's rather suspicious as they're requesting our bank information.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying she wanted to give me a refund for my washing machine insurance. She already knew my name and where I live. Then she asked for my email and bank details, which I refused to share. She ended the call abruptly after I said no, telling me she could just send something by post since she had my address.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent, said she's from Homecare and that I was owed £119.00 back on my washing machine insurance. Total nonsense since I cover my own appliances. When she asked for my bank info, I told her to just send a cheque instead. She sounded annoyed, so I just hung up.

Totally a scam, I kept chatting with them for a bit. They already knew my name, where I live and postcode. When I told them I wasn’t gonna share my bank details on the phone, she then asked for the check verification number found on the bottom of my cheque book, not the actual account number. That £119 charge sounds familiar, like what other callers mentioned before. Just some dodgy scammers trying to fool people who aren’t as aware. Absolute muppets.

Got loads of calls off this number saying they're from the "refund department" asking for my bank info to sort out a refund. They all had Indian accents. Proper dodgy lot, really.

I've been receiving calls from this number quite frequently, but they hang up as soon as I answer. It's utterly baffling! What on earth could be the motive behind these mindless nuisances?

Got a call about refunding a payment I sent. They wanted my bank info and even asked for my sort code. I told them they should’ve got that already. Then they said they can’t keep my details on file, so I told them to just send a cheque instead since they’ve got my address.

Indeed, I received a phone call about a supposed refund on my washing machine's warranty, which amounted to £119. I had my suspicions it was a bit dodgy, so I politely declined. When I told the caller I wasn't interested, he seemed taken aback and asked if I really didn't want the cash. I simply replied that he could keep it and then ended the conversation. Quite the odd exchange!

Been getting calls for a refund scam for the third time in just a couple of days. It’s obviously a trick to get my bank info. As soon as I told them it’s a scam, they just cut the line. Telecom companies really need to put a stop to these scammers, it’s getting ridiculous!

Someone rang me saying they were from Homecare, claiming I was owed £119 back. They were pushing me pretty hard to give my bank info so they could "send the refund." When I asked for proof or why they couldn't just use the info they already had, they got annoyed. Told them I never give bank details over the phone and I’d just ring British Gas myself. When I asked for their name and number to call back, they said they'd need to email me first and asked for my email address. They did know my name and address, but it was clearly a scam.

This is the third time this week they tried to ring me. Missed the first two calls. The lady on the phone said she was from some 'Refund Department' and she already knew my name. I didn’t bother listening much and just cut it off. I’ve blocked the number now.

A woman rang me claiming she was from some financial dept (can't recall exactly) saying I’d paid 119 quid too much and they wanted to give it back. She asked for my bank info. I kept her on the line for a bit for laughs. She told me she was calling from London but then just cut me off. Pretty clear it was a scam.

I've reported this to Action Fraud already. It's those same old scammers from India again. Honestly, listen to the other person who's commented here - make sure you report every scam call you get. That's the only way the authorities will finally have to step up and deal with these crooks and the places they come from.

Without a doubt, this was a total scam. I’ve had a D&G policy and got a new machine right before Christmas. They said I was due a refund but then started telling me my husband was the policyholder - which is totally not true! Don’t share any details with these people, just end the call straight away. When I asked about the strange voices I could hear in the background, the bloke suddenly got really pissed off. Really dodgy behaviour!

I received a call from someone with a distinct accent, introducing herself as Rose. She claimed that they were processing a £120 refund for an overpayment on my washing machine. Now, isn’t that a charming offer from what I presumed to be a bunch of scammers? £120 just like that! They only needed my bank details, easy as pie. I decided to play along for a bit, but eventually, I told her to scoot off.

Got a call that seemed like a total scam. I followed the advice from some comments here and reported it to Action Fraud, also sent all the details to that UK government email they mentioned. They did reply to confirm they received it. Cheers for the tips! Not sure if I'll email my MP tonight, probably wait till tomorrow. Can't hurt to try, could help shake things up a bit.

Got a call from a bloke who said he was with Homecare, telling me I’d been charged too much for my washing machine insurance and they wanted to give me a refund. Asked him to send the info through in writing and he just cut me off.

Got a call saying we were owed £199 for a washing machine refund from Homecare, but we never bought anything from them. I told the woman we actually got our washer from Currys about six years back and never had an issue. She just hung up on me after that. What’s odd is she knew my name, and since my number should be unlisted because of my job, that’s quite unsettling. No doubt this was a total scam.

I got a call from a lady saying my name, so I asked who was on the line. Then a bloke came on and said I owed a refund for Homecare. I got a call from someone claiming to be from home care, saying they wanted to refund me for a washing machine plan we don’t even have. They asked for my account info to send the money. It’s almost amusing, but I bet loads of folks would totally be tricked by this fraud.

I had an identical encounter the other day! A chap with a foreign accent rang me claiming that I was due around £120 due to an overcharge on some sort of household warranty. He insisted on needing my bank account number and sort code, stating that they couldn't issue a cheque since they were acting as a third party. It’s the same old story-a complete fraud, considering we don’t even have any warranties in place. I made it clear he should "sod off!" I've had a second call from this number within just two days. The first was from a chap with a foreign accent, and today it was a woman with a similar background. They both claimed that I was entitled to a refund for some supposed overcharge on my domestic appliance insurance. When I asked if they could process the refund in the same way I made the payment, they grew irritated when I wouldn't give them my sort code and account number. I decided to cut the conversation short there.

Had quite the amusing telephone chat earlier today with someone claiming I was owed a refund from my Homecare account. (01216617453) In essence, they were after my sort code and account number to process this so-called refund. I made it clear that such information is rather private, thank you very much. When I mentioned that they already had my name and address, I suggested they simply send a cheque instead. They insisted they needed to perform a personal identification check, which was the reason for their request. I quipped that when I need to settle a bill with a tradesman, I only require their name and address to send payment. For a laugh, I asked them to provide their own account number and sort code, claiming I'd find a hacker to intrude on their account. After a rather amusing exchange of back-and-forth banter, they eventually decided to end the call. It was a rather entertaining way to spend my afternoon!
