Rose Watson kept phoning my 75 year old mum, called her back three times! My mum tried to tell her she was feeling really anxious, even having a panic attack, but Rose just wouldn’t stop. There was shouting in the background, and she spoke with an Indian accent. It was horrible and very upsetting for my poor mum. Proper rude behaviour!

Had a bloke named Steve ring me up, sounded like he had an Asian accent. Was going on about some issues with my internet. I said I didn’t know who he was. He started going on about hackers being on my network! I told him that wasn’t true, and then he got all narky, saying “Don’t get cheeky with me.” I just hung up. Pretty clear it was a scam. I watch those Scammers Pay Back vids on YouTube enough to spot it from miles off.

Got a call from them, started off with all the usual politeness like “Hello sir, how’s your day going?” I told them I wasn’t going to respond until I knew who exactly was on the line. Then they went off on one saying “Blimey, you people are so rude these days, why so snobby?” They kept going on about it for what felt like ages while I just made myself a cuppa and before I knew it, they just hung up.

I got calls from this number on three separate occasions. First was in the afternoon of 27th January from a man, then twice on the 30th January - both times in the morning and afternoon by women. They mentioned BT Openreach a few times during the chats. There was always a bit of a lag, so I reckon it’s a call centre. When I answered last time, I just returned the friendly hello and ended it with a cheerful goodbye. Since the number popped up more than once, I decided to block it. Definitely a scam, in my opinion.

Somebody said they were from BT Openreach, but as far as I know, they never call customers. I believe hackers got hold of my details through my internet provider and are using them for gambling. When I asked a few questions, the lady on the phone got really defensive and a bit annoyed. I told her to send me something in writing, then she just hung up.

Just like the other review, the person on the phone had an Asian accent and kept firing off questions about my internet acting up. They tried getting me to open all these strange apps to fix it but none of them worked. Then they said they’d pass the issue to some “higher-up” and promised a callback. Still no call from them yet.

This morning at around 7.55, I got a call on my landline from a woman who said her name was "Anna Smith" and sounded like she was not from around here. She claimed to be calling from BT, supposedly based at 81 Newgate Street in London, telling me my internet had been hacked. She kept pestering me for details about my devices and warned that my internet would be cut off because of the breach. I asked her to name any streets nearby and the nearest Tube station to prove she was really calling from that place. After she stayed silent, I ended the call. To me, it definitely felt like a scam.

I answered a call from someone purporting to be from Microsoft, who said there was an issue with my computer. At least they didn’t bother to mask their number. I’m on a VPN, so I’m puzzled as to how they managed to track me down. The chap even addressed me by my actual name right off the bat, which suggests he must have gleaned that from either a dodgy phone directory or perhaps a data broker. Someone said they were from BT and said my emails might be in danger, then when I handed the phone to my hubby, he got annoyed and wouldn’t say who he really was, even blamed us for not trusting him.

A bunch of cunning fraudsters pretending to be tech support. They're definitely not affiliated with Microsoft!

Microsoft calling again, just wasting my time like always. This happens so often, you'd think Microsoft might've told Gamma Telecom to sort it out by now!!!

It's really important to report every scam call or number straight to the official cyber crime police channels if we want these scams to end and the crooks to be caught sooner or later. There's info on how to report about 10 posts below this one. Scammers definitely don’t want us sharing this, so they might try to hide it. You can find more about stopping scams and what happens after you report in other posts, but the one 10 down is really key. Don’t just assume someone else will do it.

I picked up this number and asked where I could send their call, and some bloke just shouted "f**k you" before slamming the phone down! What a lovely chap.

Got a call from this number, it was an Asian lady saying she was with Microsoft. She started off by asking if I was Mrs…….. I didn’t confirm, instead I asked who she was. Then she said Lisa from Microsoft. I told her straight away I wasn’t interested. She kept going on, but I eventually had to raise my voice really loud and told her I didn’t want to hear anymore, then hung up. Definitely a scam.

Just got a call from this number claiming Microsoft said my computer had an issue. No problems at all, so I ended the call and blocked them. Funny thing is, I’d actually been talking about a mobile issue with TalkTalk the night before... makes me wonder if my info is being passed on to scammers. I’ve suspected this for a while now. Might have to switch my provider.

This morning around 8:15, I received a rather alarming call informing me that my computer had been compromised and was reportedly being employed for money laundering activities! I couldn't help but mention to the caller that if someone were to report such a serious matter, they might have chosen someone whose accent was a tad easier to decipher - I struggled to grasp what he was saying due to his thick accent.
