Turns out its a call centre in South Africa working for a company in the UK. I’m originally from SA so I usually speak in Zulu or Afrikaans. The guy on the phone said he only knows English. I told him they’re just crooks, like the president back home, and said that their African ways don’t work here in the UK. I pretty much told them to get lost!!

Got a call about some accident supposedly in the last couple years. They couldn’t really give me any specifics apart from it being in the UK and within 2 years. Unsurprisingly, I’ve never had an accident. They said they got info from a “trustworthy source” and mentioned a firm called ‘Motor Investigations’. Tried looking for them online but no website anywhere. Couldn’t provide any Companies House info either. Feels like a fishing scam to me. The guy calling sounded like he wasn’t a native English speaker.

Got a call from them in the middle of work, I ended it straight away. They called back in about three minutes. I picked up and told them I’d never been in an accident. They kept saying it might not be an accident but something minor. I told them again I’ve had nothing like that happen. Then they kept insisting their records show I was in a car thing. I wasn’t having it, told them a few hard truths, hung up and blocked the number.
