I received a phone call regarding a boiler scheme, where the caller stated that it was a government requirement for all boilers to be upgraded by law before 2016. I explained that I hadn't requested the call or signed up for anything. I expressed my feeling of being harassed and mentioned that their continuous contact through a robodialer was an offense under the harassment act. To my surprise, the caller became abusive and threatened me. They even had the audacity to call me back, promising to put me on a database of call centers so that I would be bothered by numerous calls. When I questioned whether this was meant as a threat, the individual confirmed that it was indeed a promise. Their distinct Liverpool accent added to their unpleasant demeanor. It is imperative that these individuals are taken to court and prosecuted for their actions.
