Loads of folks have mentioned this already, but the bloke running this scam and using close numbers is one Stuart Wright. He’s from 21A Plymouth Road, Barnt Green, Birmingham, B45 8JF. Born on 19/01/1965. No shock he’s got a fancy house and a posh motor - must be from all the scams he’s pulling on people!

These people are a proper nuisance, ringing me like two or three times a day every single day. I've started keeping a whistle next to the phone and just blow it nonstop until they hang up. I reckon eventually they'll get fed up - or maybe they’ll go deaf from all the noise I’m giving them. One of the callers actually called me a "b***h" and threatened to report me to the police because apparently I’m damaging my own hearing. I just told him, “Well, then maybe stop calling so your ears don’t get knackered.”

Got a call from some bloke who was jabbering on about me apparently qualifying for a free boiler or something like that. When I nicely tried to tell him we don’t even have gas, he just hung up on me! Received a phone call about a boiler scheme saying it’s a legal obligation for everyone to upgrade their boilers by 2016. Told them I didn’t request any info or sign up for anything and that their persistent robocalls were borderline harassment under the law. The caller then started getting rude and actually rang me again, making threats. They said I’d end up on some kind of call centre blacklist and would keep getting pestered. When I asked if it was a threat, they said it was a guarantee. Had a Liverpool accent. Honestly, these sorts of people deserve to be taken to court.

The guy on the phone said I was due some money, but I wasn’t convinced. Then he asked if I wanted to chat with a senior advisor, and I agreed. After that, they sent me some forms in the post to sign, and just last week, I got £2300. I’d tell anyone who gets contacted to at least hear them out.
