9 yearsI keep getting calls from someone claiming to be tech support, saying that my computer is showing error alerts. They told me someone had tried to get into my email and need to connect to my PC to sort it out. I told them I already have a contract with a tech service company, but they’re still ringing me asking for access.10 yearsPlease refrain from responding if your intention is to phone me with sales pitches.11 yearsI have absolutely no idea who's been calling me. They didn’t leave a message; it just went straight to the answerphone. What a bother!11 yearsSo gets a call from TalkTalk sayin some one is tryna hack my computer but I wasn’t even in the house at the time. Thankfully my sister didn’t turn on the PC, which I think is lucky. Feels like a dodgy scam from TalkTalk or something. Had a proper look into it and there's nothing to it.TalkTalk11 yearsI picked up and some foreign guy claimed to be from BT’s tech support. Since I’m a BT customer, I listened for a bit. He told me there was an issue with my computer, but as soon as I said I couldn’t check it right then because I was heading out, I got the feeling it was a scam. They hung up straight away. This isn’t the first time I’ve had calls like this - their number pops up on my phone way too often. I’ve counted at least five times now and it’s starting to annoy me. Maybe now I’ve answered, they’ll stop bothering me.BT11 yearsI received a call from someone purporting to be from TalkTalk, requesting that I switch on my computer because there were issues they needed to sort out. When I informed them that I was indeed a TalkTalk customer and would reach out to them directly, they didn’t seem too pleased. Quite a strange encounter, I must say!TalkTalk11 yearsI received a call from this number earlier, with the caller purporting to be from TalkTalk. They alleged that they’d received alerts regarding issues with my computer from the internet. The chap on the line wanted me to log onto my device so he could fiddle with the settings. At that point, I informed him that I work in IT and that this isn't a standard procedure. His response? He cheekily told me to "Go and do one" before abruptly ending the call. Clearly, he wasn't too pleased that I saw through the ruse. In hindsight, I wish I’d kept him on the line longer to waste some of his time, maybe even prevent him from attempting this scam on someone unsuspecting. I’ve reported the incident to TalkTalk. The gentleman had a thick Indonesian accent and was clearly following a script. It’s crucial we alert others, especially older folks, about this sort of scam!TalkTalk11 yearsReceived a call from this number, with the caller purporting to be from TalkTalk. They went on about receiving alerts concerning issues with my computer from the internet. They insisted I access my computer so they could supposedly rectify the settings. At that point, I informed them that I have a background in IT and that I wouldn’t be logging into my system following such a dodgy request. The response was rather unprofessional-he told me to “go f@*k myself” before abruptly ending the call. Clearly, he didn’t appreciate being caught out. In hindsight, I should have entertained the conversation for longer, just to waste his time, so he wouldn't be able to target someone more vulnerable. I've already flagged this incident to TalkTalk. The caller had a strong Indonesian accent and seemed to be reading verbatim from a script. It’s crucial to alert others, especially the elderly, about this scam to keep them safe.TalkTalk12 yearsReceived a staggering fifteen calls from this number in just one evening-thank goodness we’ve got a call blocker!12 yearsI keep getting repeated calls from this number.13 yearsSomeone greeted me and inquired if I was Mr. ****, then they chuckled and hung up.
