Got a call from an asian bloke claiming I was eligible for a government free boiler swap. He had my full name and address, then started asking about my house size, bedroom count, and if anyone living there was on benefits. I just played along and gave him made-up info to see what he’d say next. In the end, he told me I didn’t qualify for the free boiler and hung up. Blocked the number afterwards.

Around 11:35 in the morning on the 22nd of July 2019, my phone rang, and it was this number. After a short pause, a gentle, almost whispery female voice uttered "Goodbye" before the line went dead. The accent was quite posh, typical of Received Pronunciation, leading me to suspect it might have been a recording. I hadn't had any prior calls from or to this number, and I decided against returning the call.

Someone rang saying they're from Green Network Energy, offering a FREE replacement boiler through some government scheme. Knowing how rare freebies are these days, I was a bit suspicious. I ended the call, but they rang straight back after a couple of minutes asking why I hung up! In that time, I checked the company on Companies House and noticed it was dissolved. When I asked about it, the caller just said 'yeah, we’re quite old' before I told him to leave me alone.
