Received a call purporting to be from the Department of Business, supposedly conducting a survey regarding energy consumption for small enterprises. They had my name and the name of my business, which raised my suspicions. I politely declined participation as I was rather occupied at the time, but I have a strong feeling it was a scam attempt.

I got a call at my Brighton workplace from someone who said they were from the University of Southampton. Honestly, the way they talked made me think it was either a well-done recording or someone just reading off a paper. Received a call purportedly from someone conducting a survey on behalf of the local constabulary. I politely opted out of participating. Having perused the remarks on this platform, I’ve now decided to block the number altogether.

Got a call from 01212601011 yesterday but I wasnt near my phone so couldn’t pick up. Last week, on a late Friday, I had a home visit survey done by a firm named BMG for the local council. They’d done a survey at my place before too. Last time, they mentioned I might get a call to confirm the survey had taken place, but they didnt say that this time.

Today, I received a call from this number. The individual on the other end addressed me by name before abruptly disconnecting the call. I'm quite interested in discovering how he obtained my name and home phone number. It’s exceedingly frustrating.

Got called twice by this number in the past week. They said they’re a research firm working for the Government and wanted our company to join in. We said nicely both times that we weren’t interested and each time they just hung up on us! Not sure if it’s a genuine survey but the callers were really sharp and sounded rude. Honestly, even if we had time, we wouldn’t bother with such bad manners.

Got a call from some cheeky youngster - the very first one I picked up was just some automated voice saying they were doing a survey but then no one was there to actually chat with ME!!! What's the point of ringing then? Not even 10 minutes later, another call from a loud Brummie bloke who barked, "I want to speak to a manager or the owner" - I barely got a word in and he just hung up. Proper rude!

This number is linked to BMG Research, they do loads of phone surveys for the Government and other groups. They’re a genuine company, but they can get pretty annoying with the amount they call.

By the time I picked up my phone, the call had already ended. If it’s spam, then someone must have shared my number because it’s a pricey 0701 number charging 49p a minute that I only hand out to businesses to cut down on unwanted calls.
