I received a notification about essential repairs needed for my social housing, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that it’s a total scam!

Yesterday morning around 10:03am (29/03/2022), I got a call from 01204 200249. The bloke said he was Daniel from some Housing Association and wanted to offer new windows and doors for my place. The noise in the background sounded like he was at a call centre. Weirdly, he already knew my name. Then in the evening, I kept getting calls from 01204200231 but didn’t pick up any of them.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from social housing about some repair work. Seemed legit at first, but since I’ve fallen for scams in the past, I spotted the tricks straight away.

Got a really unpleasant guy on the phone today, sounded like he was trying to scam me. When I asked where he got my number from, he just said some mysterious database. He claimed to work for social housing or something, even though the number showed it was from Bolton and I live about 80 miles away to the south. Tried ringing back to sort it out or give him a piece of my mind, but the call just dropped straight away. Honestly, these types are so lazy and clueless about doing things properly. They said they were just confirming my insurance was up to date and not trying to sell me anything. I reckon they gather this info so they can ring back later, maybe pretending to be from your bank or insurance company to trick you. Could be for identity theft too. Honestly, never give out your personal details to strangers like that.

received a call from a firm called clearcom.sa, which apparently operates out of south africa. they told me they're regulated by the fca and offered to verify uk insurance policies, insisting they weren't selling anything or asking for personal info. something felt off though, so i'd avoid them. honestly, they could be totally dodgy, maybe even scammers!
