Got calls from someone claiming to be the local council about repairs, had a Greater Manchester number but I’m in Leicester. They’ve rung me over 30 times in the past four days.

I found it quite baffling to make sense of the individual who called me. She transferred the line to another person, yet I still struggled to grasp what they were saying. It appeared to be some kind of survey, but whenever I inquired about its purpose, they merely diverted the conversation and continued firing questions at me. Eventually, I decided to hang up out of sheer frustration. It felt rather intrusive, to say the least!

Got a call from an Asian woman saying she was from the council, offering help with repairs and mould issues, mentioning a mate called Michael who could assist. I asked where she got my info from, cos normally I’d get a letter or some official notice. She said it was from some national database but couldn’t say who my housing provider was, just that her colleague could. Sounded fishy to me, so I didn’t trust her at all. Kept ringing me even after I lost signal, feels like she’s just after my info and giving no real answers. Total scam if you ask me.

Got a call from 01204200244 claiming to be from the council or housing association. Told them I own my house (which isn't true) and they quickly ended the call. Definitely a scam, this is the third call today from different numbers. All of them have been blocked now.

Got a call from some people claiming to be solicitors, said they wanted to check if there was any mould or damp in my house and if my kitchen was alright. They were both speaking with Asian accents and then tried to get my personal info. I didn’t give them anything.

Got a call about some housing maintenance scam, something to do with Local Authority housing. They asked for my wife by name on my mobile. The only ones who’d link my number to her are the phone company since the contract’s in her name, taken out 18 years ago back when we lived in Local Authority housing. I’m convinced 3 Mobile must be leaking customer info. No way am I renewing six of our mobile contracts with them.

This felt like pure harassment and some sort of scam aiming to get money from your housing association. As soon as I heard what he was about, I ended the call and blocked the number. The bloke was really pushy and wouldn’t take no for an answer.

Got a call from an Asian lady in the afternoon, asking for my husband by name. I told her this wasn’t his number and asked who she was. She said her name was Elaine but quickly added I probably wasn’t interested in her name, just the company she represented. Said something about our tenancy and asked details about our landlord. I told her I was at work and where I lived was none of her concern, then I hung up. Clearly some kind of phishing scam.

Got a call from this number earlier, the person somehow knew my full name and where I live. Claimed he was carrying out a tenant survey about damp and the state of my flat. I told him I don’t have any issues. Then he started talking about electrical problems and insisted it wasn’t a scam, just doing his job to assist tenants. I told him it’d be better if he contacted someone else since I don’t require any help, and maybe focus on others who do.

Got a call from this number, answered it and heard this weird bubbly sound, like an auto dialler passing me to someone else. The person who picked up sounded really rushed and panicky. Kept asking for a Patricia! That’s definitely not me! I tried telling him I wasn’t who he was looking for and asked who they were trying to reach. Got a call from a Maxine in Bristol claiming she could lower my life insurance premiums. I asked for specifics like which policy she meant and how much I'd save, but she didn’t seem to know anything about my current insurance at all. When I pressed her on where she got my info, she just gave a vague answer about some insurance firms. I then asked if she was registered under the data protection act, and she just said the company that gave her my details would be. I told her I hadn't given permission for my data to be shared and ended the call. The number showing on my phone was 01204 200244.
