My 92-year-old stepdad got tricked into handing over money for a so-called renewal of a nuisance call blocker service, which he’s never even had. Ironically, he’s on the TPS list too. We tried to stop the payment with his bank, but they already had his full account details and since he gave them the security code, the bank said there was nothing they could do. The bank says the company is called Appliance Assist. Their website looks pretty legit, but when you phone the number on there, it just says "currently unavailable." If you try calling back on their number, it just rings for ages and no one's picking up. They say they'll send something in the post within two weeks. Honestly, firms like this need to be shut down. Stay well clear of them!

My elderly mum, who’s 89, got a call from this number claiming she owed some money. After she ended the call, they rang back, not just once but about six times! They even had the cheek to say she was being rude and told her not to hang up on people she supposedly owes cash to. The thing is, my mum doesn’t owe a penny to anyone. I phoned them up and they just said they’re a company that deals with nuisance calls. If that’s their job, they’re doing it very badly because they’re just as much a nuisance themselves!

My 90 year old mum got a call from these people pushing some dodgy phone call blocking plan. When she told them to do one, they had the cheek to ring her back loads of times just to shout at her for being rude. Tomorrow I’m going to ring them myself to try and catch them out...

My elderly mum, who’s 89, got a call from this number saying she owed cash. After she hung up, they rang again, not just once but six times in total. Each time, they’d accuse her of being rude and told her not to hang up on people she supposedly owed money to. Problem is, she doesn’t owe a penny to anyone! I tried ringing them back, and they claimed to be a firm that stops nuisance calls. Honestly, if that’s their job, they’re doing it in a pretty annoying way.
