Half the time they just go quiet or hang up halfway through what they’re saying. Every now and then they drop a line about some Energy advisor nearby. I’m a bit perplexed by these calls I keep receiving. They always kick off the conversation with the line, "I presume you are the homeowner," which immediately raises my eyebrows. When I gently inquire, "Oh, may I ask who mentioned that to you?" they abruptly hang up. This makes me wary, as it feels rather dodgy to me. I can't help but suspect it’s a scam or something less than trustworthy.

I’ve noticed a similar trend with those pesky scam calls and intrusive sales pitches. A well-spoken gent on the line declared, “I’m reaching out on behalf of the Energy Advisor for your locality - could you please confirm you are the property owner?” I replied with a firm “NO” and patiently awaited his next move. After an awkward silence of about five seconds, I decided to hang up. He failed to identify me or even mention my postcode, leading me to believe it was just a gimmicky sales attempt, possibly related to some dodgy insulation scheme. Truly the worst sort of leech! So, I promptly blocked the number, only to have the same chap try his luck again a mere 15 minutes later, but thankfully my system dealt with him swiftly!

Some bloke called saying he was Tom and asked about loft insulation I supposedly got done. I was like, "Have I?" Then he kept repeating the same thing. I asked again, "Have I?" and then he just hung up. Definitely felt a bit dodgy.

I don’t normally pick up calls from numbers I don’t know, but for some reason I did this time. At first, there was silence when I answered, then a bloke came on the line asking if I was the homeowner. I told him no, and he just said thanks and hung up straight away. I’ve heard that some scam calls try to get you to say yes or no to things so they can record it and use it against you somehow. Not sure exactly how it works, but I reckon it’s best to be cautious anyway.

Seeing loads of similar comments, I figured it was a scam and just ignored the call. After I didn’t pick up, their voicemail kicked in but then they immediately hung up. Since a genuine caller would've left a message, I went ahead and flagged it as harassment.

I got a call claiming they'd done some insulation work in my loft before and it might be causing damp issues. Said it wasn’t anything serious but wanted to send a surveyor round for a check-up. I’ve gone ahead and blocked their number and told everyone here to watch out for it.

They called me again for the second time, insisting on confirming if I own the property. When I tried to get more info out of them, they said they were from an insulation advice service in Reading, but the number they were calling from had a Bournemouth area code. I've told them to stop calling me now.

Got a call earlier about some energy provider thing in my area. I asked straight up if it was a sales call, and they said yes. So basically just a cold call trying to sell me something. I repeated that back to make sure I got it right, and they agreed. After that, I just told the person to piss off and ended the call.

Got a call at 11.46 on 18/06/2021 from someone who said his name was Tom. He asked me about some loft insulation that I supposedly had fitted recently, but I had no idea about any installation happening. Then he just ended the call. Definitely a scam.

Got a call from an 01202 number about 10:39, but I didn't pick up. Don't recognise that code or the number at all. Definite BLOCK from me.

This was defo an energy saving scam. The person speaking wasnt real at all, just some phone bot set up to respond to certain words. Best to just ignore it.

They rang saying they were from a resin driveway firm and kept going on about some ‘special deal’. I kept telling them I wasn’t interested and that I’m actually selling the place, only then did they finally stop and just ended the call.
