I received an unsolicited call from someone claiming to be an energy advisor from my neighbourhood. He was keen on selling loft insulation and even proposed a complimentary survey for the loft. I politely turned him down. I really dislike these surprise calls!

21/10/22 - I usually ignore calls from numbers I don’t know, but after getting a few from 01202159, this one finally left a voicemail. It was basically the same message as before about a “free medical alert device valued at over £200” and told me to call the toll-free 08000 487 800. Honestly, I can’t see why I’d want a free medical alert system when I’m perfectly healthy!

Can’t say who was ringing me because I never pick up on unknown numbers. I keep getting lots of calls from nearly identical numbers which, when I look them up here, all seem dodgy. I block ‘em every time but they somehow manage to call again with numbers that differ just by one digit or so. It’s really annoying!

Got a call earlier from someone claiming to be with a "Green Energy" company, saying there was an issue with condensation in my loft insulation from a past job. I asked them to specify when that work was done, but they just kept pushing that I could get a free loft survey. I told him I’m registered with the TPS and that I didn’t want the call, but he just stuck to his script. The only question he kept repeating was “are you the homeowner?” When I demanded they take me off their list because of the TPS, he just ended the call.

Im on the TPS register but these annoying calls still come through. On 22/10/21 just after 10am, my landline rang and some bloke who said his name was Joe started with the usual pitch about loft insulation, condensation problems, and that I'd missed out on getting extra insulation done. He asked loads of questions like ‘are you the homeowner?’ and ‘have you done any loft conversions?’ It was obvious they just dial random numbers without checking who they're calling or any details about the place. Once i mentioned I live in a mobile home, he quickly lost interest and ended the chat.

Got a call from 01202159730, some lot pretending to be from The green energy firm. They were going on about how my loft insulation could be causing mould and damp issues and wanted to book a survey. They mentioned that nearly all the homes nearby have already been checked and they were just getting round to the last few. Supposedly, my place is on a list they hold (and apparently they have my number too). They claimed they operate out of south east London. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

Some bloke called Chris rang me, said he was from some green energy firm, telling me our insulation was dodgy or something. He reckoned they had us down on their list as having done it in the past decade. Kept pushing me to have some experts come and check it out, wouldn’t take no for an answer even though I said no loads of times quite nicely. Proper persistent, that one.

I got a call from a polite guy pushing solar panels pretty hard. I didn’t go for it but after checking some other reports it honestly seems like a scam. Watch out for him!! He was really good at telling a convincing story though.

This Bournemouth number keeps ringing me almost daily, always changing its caller ID - probably some sort of random number generator. Today was the first time they left a voicemail, claiming I’d won a medical alert kit and to ring back on 08000847800. Obviously, I’m not going to call them back since it’s clearly a scam. I’m annoyed that the Telephone Preference Service doesn’t seem to stop these calls, especially since I only share our landline with official organisations. I’ve blocked this number again... bet it’ll be another new one from this Bournemouth nuisance tomorrow.
