My missus got a call on Monday around 4.35pm, some bloke started off saying it was about loft insulation or something. She quickly ended the call and then blocked the number straight away. This isn’t the first time - we’ve had a few calls from numbers that look alike, so I reckon they’re just swapping numbers all the time. We’re definitely on the TPS list, but honestly, it doesn’t seem to bother them one bit.

I haven’t picked up my home phone in ages, probably over three years now, 'cause I get bombarded with loads of scam calls daily. I do use an answer machine though, and every now and then some caller with a strong foreign accent leaves this silly message saying I’ll get cut off if I don’t press 1. The annoying bit is, the machines on the other end must reckon there's someone actually answering, so they just keep ringing and ringing. You’d think they’d at least use a British voice, but their accent’s a dead giveaway. Seriously, someone needs to crack down on these scammers!

We told him straight away that we’re an industrial place with no loft, so he should remove our number from their list, but he just kept yabbering. Eventually, he gave in. When we rang the number back, it went to voicemail saying it was a market research call from Digital Solution Marketing Company. They said they might ring again and if we wanted to stop them, we could press 1. Yeah, right, like that’s ever gonna happen. Next time he calls, I’ll be telling him to jog on. As loads of folks have mentioned, the details anyone can find say that the person behind this number (and other scams like it) is Stuart David Wright who lives at 21A Plymouth Road, Barnt Green, Birmingham. No surprise he’s got a posh big house worth millions - must be all that scamming people’s dosh!
