I’ve traced the number back to a landline in Terrace Road, Bournemouth. It even shows up on the map! If I were in the vicinity, I'd be tempted to drop by for a natter. It's quite close to the church on that street.

I received a pre-recorded message indicating that it was from a Digital Solutions Trading firm. It provided me with the opportunity to press 1 if I wished to unsubscribe from future calls. However, I would advise against that, as it might result in my number being redirected outside the UK. The same goes for any communications from numbers 01202 143284 and 01202143285. Clearly, this is a blatant scam or fraudulent activity at play.

Mentioned we’d look into his info and contact the TPS, then the line just cut off on us.

Twice now I’ve had a call from this same scammer. A bloke calling himself ‘Chris’ claiming to be from an energy firm, worried about the safety of my place. When I asked which address he meant, he couldn’t tell me or even name the postcode. After asking a couple of times, he just gave me some half-hearted reply like he was ready to quit the chat.

This automated nuisance goes by various names like Chris, Cliff, or Patrick, and claims to be my so-called local energy representative, a position that frankly doesn’t exist at all. Their sneaky agenda appears to involve persuading me to agree to a loft insulation survey, with the end game being to sell me a spritz of foam insulation. They try to freak you out with worries about potential mould lurking in traditional insulation. Interestingly, these calls seem to come from a range of numbers, though they all begin with 012021432xx. If you wish to end the call prematurely, you can simply hang up or, if you want to throw a spanner in the works, just respond “no” right after they ask if you’re the homeowner. Alternatively, if you're in the mood for a bit of a laugh and don't have anything pressing to do, feel free to keep them tied up in their scripted nonsense by asking them to repeat themselves ad nauseam!
