Got a call from a bloke claiming to be from the London Residential Green Standards Centre. He wanted to send a person round to check my roof insulation, saying it needed replacing. Strangely, he also asked how old I was! Claimed that neighbours had already taken advantage of this scheme, part of a new Government initiative related to Green Standards. Seemed pretty legit at first, but I’m sure it’s just a con.

Absolutely revolting bloke called me up, started on about loft insulation, then went off the rails talking about how big his plumbing was and fantasying about hanging it over my loft ladder. Proper nasty creep. Blocked him straight away. Next day, a call from a similar number ending 281, some other geezer blagging on about saving energy, but quickly turning creepy with comments about keeping me cosy during the night. Honestly, these lot should be given the sack - no reason to bother folks like that with rubbish calls.

I go by XD and TPS, and I've been with them for over 25 years now. Given that I’m deaf, I don't share my phone number anymore and handle everything via email. Those I wish to converse with are well aware of this arrangement. The only reason I still have a landline is to support my internet connection and to make emergency calls when necessary. Today alone, I’ve received about six calls from that number (thanks to 1471). I suppose it might be wise to inform BT, as it appears they’re clearly violating the TPS regulations.
