Got a call on my landline from a lady claiming to be from Nationwide. She asked for my name, but I told her to wait a moment as my TV was too loud. When I went back to speak with her, she’d already ended the call. Glad really, as I don’t share any personal info with unknown callers.

Got a call from 01202113698 claiming I could get a cheaper deal on plumbing and drainage insurance since I hadn’t made any claims in the last year. It all sounded believable at first, but then they started asking for more personal details which made me a bit wary. When I asked them to send me the info by email or post, the caller said they didn’t have my email and wasn’t keen on sending anything through the post. That’s when I ended the call and got in touch with Nationwide to let them know about the number. I’ve put the number on my block list now.

Spoke to a polite young bloke who kept saying something about no claim and plumbing and drainage insurance, said it was paid by direct debit from a Nationwide account. He was tryin’ to get me to agree to a cheaper rate. I told him I didn’t even know about this insurance and asked him to ring back. Seems dodgy to me, especially since he might try to set up a direct debit if he gets your bank details. Feels like a scam, defo worth reporting.

This number rang me at 10:11 this morning. A woman claiming to be from Nationwide phoned, and I assumed it was the Nationwide Building Society since I bank there. She asked if I had plumbing and drainage insurance, which I don’t, so I declined. Isn't this kind of cold-calling against the law?

Got a ring from some bloke called James claiming to be from Nationwide's plumbing and drainage insurance. He said as I haven't claimed in the last year, I could get a cheaper deal. Sounded brilliant! Problem is, I don't even have that sort of insurance with Nationwide, so he was definitely talking rubbish. He spoke really well though, so I guess some people could easily fall for it. Very convincing, that one.

I got a call from someone claiming to be Nationwide services, said they could knock £10 off my monthly direct debit for plumbing and drainage. They kept pushing really hard, even wanted my bank details to switch it over. Thing is, I don’t even have a direct debit with them, so no way they could do that. Just a heads up if you get a call like this, watch out.

Somebody phoned me asking for my husband by his name, claiming to be from what sounded like Nationwide Homecare. They asked for his sort code and bank account number. Similar to what others mentioned, they said we hadn't claimed anything in the past year and that meant the monthly payment might be lower. The bloke I spoke to was proper professional and took his time to explain everything clearly. I think his name was Michael or something like that, and he had a really pleasant voice too. Got a phone call from this number on 15/09 around noon. The person said they were ringing from Homestart and mentioned that since I hadn’t claimed anything in the last year, I qualified for a discount on my renewal. Thing is, we’re already with Homestart. When I asked if I could keep paying through the same direct debit, he said no, they needed me to set up a new one and asked for my bank details. I wasn’t having that, so I told him I’d call back after verifying the call. Of course, he never rang again. I could hear office noise in the background and the caller seemed pretty smooth.
