Inquiring if I had been part of an accident that wasn’t attributable to me.

I had a ring from this number and, fortunately, I chose not to pick up. It's best to either block this caller or categorise them as spam. The wisest course of action is to absolutely avoid answering calls from any numbers you don't recognise.

Over the last few days, I’ve received phone calls from someone claiming to be from BT, insisting that my account had been compromised. This individual threatened to disconnect my Internet for a fortnight, if I didn’t comply with his demands. When I firmly declined to cooperate, he turned quite unpleasant, resorting to insults and even calling me a “psycho.” He went on to say he had complete control over my online activities, and since I wouldn’t follow his orders, he promised I’d be cut off from the Internet entirely. He introduced himself as Eddie Cooper. Honestly, if I were an older person, I might have fallen for this nonsense completely!

I'm receiving persistent pestering calls from this number that purports to be from Microsoft support. Despite my requests for them to cease contacting me, they remain undeterred. Can anyone advise on how I might prevent these calls from continuing?

I just had an intriguing encounter with two individuals who rang me, professing to be from the Microsoft Technical Support. They mentioned something about receiving error alerts from my computer, which is quite amusing since I don’t own any Microsoft gadgets at all! The first chap introduced himself as Roy Miller, and the second went by the name William Jonson - though I suspect those might be names pulled straight from a hat. When I requested a call-back number, they provided one that’s clearly not affiliated with Microsoft: 01183280178. Just a heads-up for everyone - M I C R O S O F T W I L L N E V E R, I repeat, N E V E R reach out to you unsolicited! Stay vigilant!

I just got a call today, just as everyone else has mentioned!

I received three phone calls within a mere three-hour span, each one claiming that my computer was infested with a virus that required immediate attention. On the third call, I decided to play along-I pretended to switch things on, answered the door, rebooted my machine, and kept asking him to repeat his instructions while I was clearly doing nothing productive. Eventually, I asked him to hold for a moment and then simply hung up. To my surprise, he had the nerve to call back again and provided me with this number, insisting he was from Microsoft. Just a heads up folks-stay vigilant!

Received a couple of calls from this number yesterday. The initial one was from a woman, which my wife answered. She listened patiently, then kindly declined and ended the call. Almost straight away, the phone rang again, this time a chap on the line who seemed rather irate. He wanted to know why my wife had cut the conversation short. He went on about how our computer had supposedly been compromised, and the more we conversed, the more his tone escalated, peppered with some rather colourful language. Clearly, it was a scam attempt.

It's important to remember that Microsoft won’t reach out to you directly. If there’s an issue with your computer, it will prompt you to get in touch with them. They're similar to brands like IBM and Dyson in that regard - the onus is on the customer to initiate contact if help is needed. So, let's make it clear: we’re onto their little ruse, and it’s time to bid them farewell!

I’ve just received three back-to-back calls from this number. I usually don’t answer unsolicited calls, but I decided to grill the chap on the other end - I fired off queries about his name, how I could reach him, the purpose of the call, and where he was based. As I pressed for details, he started to get quite flustered and insisted that our Windows installation was being compromised and was on the brink of being shut down. Quite the drama, I must say!

I get this same number ringing my phone every single day. Honestly, they really need to take a hike! If you happen to pick up, just chuck the phone aside for a bit-go do some chores, catch a show, or even give the carpet a good clean. Occasionally, I’ll keep them hanging on the line, asking them to hold for a moment, just to be cheeky and know it’s burning through their minutes. A little dose of payback, if you will!

Regrettably, I was duped at first by that deceptive scheme. Now, my laptop is rendered practically useless and in dire need of repairs. On the bright side, they didn't manage to rake in any cash from me!

I’ve come across something quite alarming on my computer-it’s popped up, masquerading as a toll-free number from Microsoft, stating that it's the sole solution to 'unblock' my Internet Explorer, which, I must say, is currently rendered useless by this fraudulent 'error' alert. I'm convinced this is a dreadful piece of malware or a virus, and I’m finding it incredibly difficult to banish from my system.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft in Reading. He insisted that I switch on my computer, but when I refused, he ominously threatened to block it. He went on about how my device was being compromised. It all seemed rather dodgy to me!
