This number is definitely dodgy. They called asking for £2000 and promised to refund £1000 once I gave them my bank info. They kept phoning non stop, so I just stopped answering.

I got a call from someone saying they were with Talktalk, saying my line had some kind of problem and it might get cut off soon. They told me to press 1 or 2 to fix it. The woman sounded genuine and spoke english really well, though she had a bit of an accent.

I got a phone call from a number that showed up as unavailable, the bloke said my computer had been hacked and he could sort it out. Claimed he was ringing from Microsoft in Reading - I was like, “Is that so?” and he got proper narked. These scammers are the worst, seriously dodgy people. He also gave me a number to ring back: 01183283047.

Is it just me or do these scams look like they're putting up fake glowing reviews themselves now? Like, who even is Steve Fingers? And GENUINE MICROSOFT? Sounds dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent saying his name was "Marc Duarde". He gave a number, 0118 328 1025, and said extension x1823. He claimed to be calling from Microsoft in Reading about a virus on my computer. Sounded pretty convincing at first, but it’s definitely a scam. Don’t fall for it!

Got another call today, some scammer pretending to be from Microsoft saying my PC's been used for dodgy stuff. I just hung up straight away. Then, not long after, a number starting with 0052 rang me. Let it go to voicemail and didn’t pick up. Seems like the usual scam attempts.

Some bloke rang saying he was from Microsoft. At first, he was alright, but once I said no to turning on my computer (he reckoned it was hacked), he got proper shouty and aggressive. Definitely seems like one of those dodgy scam calls to me.

Got a call from 01183283047, claiming they were Microsoft and that my computer was at risk from hackers. They offered to guide me through securing it. When I asked if Microsoft had put out an official alert, the bloke said no, they were keeping it under wraps. He then insisted I call a number they gave to confirm things. I told him I’d look it up on the news first and ended the call. Sounded convincing and quite smooth, but it was definitely a scam.

Some folks here say they just take your cash and don’t actually do anything, but honestly, that’s not true at all. From my experience, they offer a proper good service and don’t just run off with your money.

Had nearly the same thing happen to me. The caller said they were from Microsoft and said my computer was infected with a virus. They said they were calling from Reading, and kept pushing me to install some kind of remote access program. When I refused, they started getting really rude and aggressive. It was pretty obvious it was a scam, and I can easily see how someone less tech-savvy could fall for it. Honestly, this kind of call should be treated as a serious threat!

Got a random call from someone saying they were with Microsoft, kept warning me my computer would get blocked unless I let them sort it out. They ended up giving me this number, but I never rang back. The initial call came from 01603898375 and honestly, I'm pretty sure it was just a proper scam.

Got a phone call from a bloke with an Indian accent who said his name was Alan and claimed he was from Microsoft. He told me my computer was hacked and handed me a number to call back at 0118 3283047 when I asked how I could verify he was actually from MS. The call came through as international. I’m pretty sure it’s some kind of scam.

I just got a ring from someone saying his name was Doug and that he was with Microsoft. When I told him I'd phone back later, he gave the number above. The original call came from 01745 591866 though. I've had loads of calls like this, all supposedly from Microsoft, but all with these thick Indian accents - bit dodgy if you ask me!

I got a call from someone called Abraham who said he was ringing from Microsoft’s main office in Reading. He told me I had to switch my computer on right away because hackers had taken control of it, and claimed to know my full name and address. I told him I was leaving and would ring back later. He left me a number to call, 0118 3283047 ext 0106. After hanging up, I used 1471 to check the number and saw the original call came from 00127799620505 - definitely not Microsoft. Feels like a total scam to me.

Someone rang me from this number, claiming my computer was hacked. When I called them out and said it sounded like a scam, the woman stayed oddly calm and told me to double-check everything before ringing back on that same number. She even gave me a postcode to make it sound legit. Big thanks to those who’ve already flagged this as a dodgy call!

Today I got a phone call from them, telling me to get on my computer right away. It began with a young lady talking, but then it suddenly changed to a very annoyed guy who sounded Indian and said his name was Laurence Williams. When I said it sounded like a joke, he got all defensive, asking how I could be so sure and all that. I asked him for his contact number like it said here, then he said he’d wait while I switched on my PC, but I just ended the call.

I got a call from someone pretending to be from the 'Microsoft Campus in Reading'. Things got a bit heated when they kept pushing me for bank info, and when I refused, they went and put my number all over the internet. Luckily today I managed to chat with some lovely folks who now understand this is just another scam to watch out for.

Got a call from this number claiming to be 'Microsoft' support around 9:30 in the morning on 18th Jan 2019. They tricked the user into giving bank and card info saying it was to process a refund from Microsoft. Next thing, over £4000 was stolen from the user's account through a Western Union transfer. This is definitely a scam, so watch out for this number.

These people called me saying my computer was hacked, but when I said I'd checked their number and it wasn't from Microsoft, they got really nasty. They said they'd put my phone number all over the internet as some kind of support for hackers. Then they started threatening me, saying "wait and see what we do to you in the next few hours" and that my computer would end up crippled. Honestly, don't let these hackers get near your computer - they're just after your personal info.
