Got a phone call from a person claiming to be from Sky. They said my payments needed changing and I couldn't use direct debit anymore. They offered a discount if I paid immediately because of the 'inconvenience'. But as soon as I started asking stuff, they just hung up. Watch out for this one!

Got a call before 8:30 in the morning, quick mistake on their part. I picked up and there was complete silence, no one talking at all, so after a minute I just ended the call. If it was legit, I reckon they’d have said something or phoned me again without delay. I’m just gonna block the number or give them a real cold response, that’s how I deal with it.

They claimed to be from Virgin Media, but I cut in straight away asking how they live with themselves tricking folks out of their money. Told them they were just scammers, come on, just own up. There was a long pause, then they hung up. Total scam, especially since I’m not even a Virgin Media customer.

Some bloke with a weird accent called himself Kevin Smith from BT. He said he was there to help me because people were apparently messing about with my broadband. He told me to open Safari on my Mac and type in ‘validator’, then read out what it showed. When I said it read ‘You’re not with BT, so stop bothering me’, he just ended the call right away!

Some bloke claiming to be from Virgin Media rang me saying my internet was supposedly hacked. I told him straight away that it sounded like a scam, which didn’t go down well. He got quite rude and started asking things like ‘Who told you that? Honestly, I wouldn’t even pick up the phone if I saw this number again. It’s so obviously a scam. The person called claiming there was some illegal activity on my Virgin Media internet, trying to spook me. Then he tried to get me to log into Virgin Media’s system, which sounded really dodgy. I quickly told him I wasn’t interested and he just hung up. It’s scary to think what kind of access these scammers could get to someone’s computer or banking info if they’re gullible enough. These sorts of calls should definitely be blocked altogether.
