Then he tried to get me to install this ‘anydesk remote access’ app on my phone so he could get in. I wasn’t having any of it and told him to jog on pretty quick. Bit pushy when I said no, frankly.

I just didn’t feel like chatting with them though. Plus, their fast Indian accent was really hard for me to get - probably 'cos I’m not so young any more!

Got a call from what sounded like one of those scam call centres, probably from Pakistan or India. I just told the bloke off nicely and then ended the call. Seriously, don't get caught up in their nonsense or you might lose some money from your account.

Then, not long after at 1.45, the very same number rang again, this time pretending to be Virgin Media about my broadband. Pretty sure it’s some sort of scam, so I cut the call straight away.

This is an age-old con, isn't it? They ring you up claiming there are problems with your internet service and urge you to install some software. But in reality, it’s just a sneaky way to get you to download a virus!
