On 16/11/21, I got a call from this number claiming I was owed money from a mortgage from over four decades ago. The man on the line had my name, phone number, and address, but then asked for my date of birth. I refused to give it out over the phone, and he just hung up immediately after. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

Got a call from someone claiming I was owed money from a PPI refund on a mortgage or loan. They asked for my date of birth. I asked them to clarify which specific loan or mortgage they were talking about, and they said it was linked to my Halifax account. I told them I’ve never had a mortgage or loan with Halifax, then they just ended the call.

They called and wanted to talk to a certain first and last name, but I gave them my maiden name instead since I’ve had a different surname for over a decade. When I asked what company they were with, the person mumbled something about life insurance. I pressed them on where they got my number from and they just said it was from their “company database.” When I asked which company, all I got was “our company database” before they just cut the call.
