I picked up and kept quiet, then she whispered her name but it was impossible to catch what she said.

I got a call from Troy on this number saying my computer was infected or something like that. I told him my hubby runs a computer business and he acted like he had no clue about that! I just ended the call. He tried ringing me back four times but thankfully didn’t leave any voicemail. It’s awful how many scam calls we’re constantly getting these days.

We got a call from this really rude lady who just shouted at us, saying "I know you're there, answer me!" She even knew our names, which was quite creepy. Honestly, it was the most unpleasant cold call experience I’ve ever had.

Spoke in a really harsh tone, I hung up but they called right back straight away. I ended the call once more.

Got a call saying my computer was hacked or something, told them I dont even own one and just hung up. They kept ringing me like 4 more times and on the last one, the guy shouted about blocking my damn computer or whatever!!

I ended the call but they phoned me right away again. Afterwards, I got a voicemail calling me ignorant and rude, telling me to answer. Then, they rang once more within less than a minute, this time calling me illiterate and claiming I’m risking my family by not speaking to them. Definitely a sketchy number to watch out for.

Called by someone named Priti claiming to be from "Microsoft". When I asked which of my six computers was supposedly hacked, she quickly said all of them were infected. Total scam right there.

Some woman phoned me claiming to be from BT, saying my computer had been hacked. I told her I didn't think she was actually from BT and quickly ended the call. Then she called back, telling me she'd keep ringing if I hung up again. In the end, I just pulled the phone cable out.

I just said hello but there was no response from the other end.

This morning my phone rang, but I chose not to pick up.

What a waste of time! It’s really frustrating to deal with this kind of work. Honestly, it’s pretty depressing.

I received a rather dubious call today from someone purporting to represent Windows, alleging that my computer had been compromised and that there were nefarious individuals attempting to breach my account. Apparently, since the account bears my name, I’d supposedly be liable for any misdeeds! They warned that unless I took immediate action, all my online activities would be blocked. Quite absurd, considering we don’t even own a computer-just an iPad. I suspected it was a scam, so I promptly ended the call. To my surprise, the same individual rang back! I chose not to answer, and he left an extremely convoluted voicemail filled with poor grammar, accusing me of being foolish for ignoring him and advising me not to waste their time. How audacious! He had the nerve to try contacting me a third time, which I, of course, ignored. I’d already done some digging to verify my hunches regarding the number. Just a word of caution-stay vigilant!

Got a call but no voicemail, and I don't know anyone from Bristol at all. Pretty sure it's just another scam attempt!

Received a rather alarming call regarding some computer issues. I decided to end the conversation promptly. The caller was annoyingly tenacious, and to my dismay, they rang again. In the end, I resorted to unplugging the phone, and now I’ve ensured that number is blocked for good.

This number rang me saying my computer was hacked or something. The woman who spoke sounded really rude and had an Asian accent. She called me three times in a row, then after a bit she phoned again twice more but I just let it go straight to voicemail. Quite annoying, really.

I had a rather unpleasant encounter with a chap sporting an Indian accent who insisted he was calling from Microsoft. He was quite confrontational, which was totally uncalled for. I ended up disconnecting the call three times before I had to switch off my phone for about ten minutes to regain my sanity. Later, I noticed a missed call from the same number, but there was no voicemail left.

This number never picks up and the caller seems to switch numbers all the time.

The moment i answered the phone, the call just dropped and the line went dead.

I firmly reckon that if it were something significant, the caller would’ve left a message, but alas, they didn’t. I tried 1471 to trace the number and subsequently searched for it online. Just my luck, yet another random caller with no good reason!

I received numerous calls from a chap claiming to be from Microsoft Windows, insisting that unless we followed his instructions, our laptop would be locked out. It felt quite threatening, to say the least!

I got a call from a bloke claiming to be from Windows, saying my PC was hacked. He seemed to know my name, address and phone number. He said Windows had already tried to reach me before and sent info about my computer being at risk. I told him to put it all in writing and then ended the call. Afterwards, he kept ringing me for ages but I just ignored it.

Cheshire: Initially, it struck me as one of those typical scams from the Far East, trying to convince me that they could prevent my computer from being disconnected, all while claiming affiliation with some fictitious division of a tech company. Usually, we would just hang up or they’d flee at the first hint of scepticism. However, this particular encounter was quite vicious and escalated beyond the norm. First, my wife answered the call (truthfully) stating she neither owned a computer nor used the web, and promptly hung up. No sooner had she ended the call than the woman called back, clearly irked, and insisted, "Don’t hang up, we’re aware you have a computer!" Once again, my wife terminated the conversation. The caller wasted no time and dialled back again. This time I picked up, and she addressed me by my surname, sternly advising me not to hang up or deny computer ownership, much like my wife had. She was terribly rude, making threats about how they had knowledge regarding my computer and that disconnection was imminent. I hung up yet again and attempted to trace the number through 1471, but it just kept ringing engaged. This is an alarming turn of events worth evading… I shudder to think what an elderly relative might do if confronted with something like this... All of this occurs despite our registration with the Telephone Preference Service!

I got a call from this number saying a parcel should be arriving within 3 to 5 days, they even mentioned my name and address before hanging up. Quite strange really.

Received a call on the 20th of October, 2021, around 3 in the afternoon. The caller claimed to represent the postcode lottery. However, the moment I probed them with a few extra questions, they promptly hung up on me. Curious behaviour, to say the least!

Absolutely knackered by the absence of genuine folks online! It's quite vexing dealing with time wasters. Honestly, there ought to be some regulations in place to put a stop to this nonsense!

Just got a call from some Asian telemarketer, the usual nonsense asking about my mortgage and insurance and all that rubbish. Honestly, don’t give them any info unless you want to be bombarded with endless scam calls. Best thing is to block them straight away and carry on with your day without the hassle!

Somebody rang saying they were from Legal & General Life Insurance, but I’m pretty sure it was a scam. Felt dodgy right from the start.

I’ve been receiving a barrage of unfamiliar phone numbers lately, and it’s quite baffling. I shouldn’t be inundated with these calls, especially since I’ve specifically paid to block unknown numbers from reaching me. Quite frustrating, to say the least!

Got a call from 01174054847 but they didn’t leave any voicemail, which really makes me think it’s one of those dodgy scam calls. I mean, a proper company would always leave a message with some contact info, right? Tried ringing back but the call just wouldn’t go through. So yeah, I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

I saw an unknown number pop up but decided not to pick up. I usually look it up on this site first and yep, turns out it’s just one of those scams. No way I’m bothering with that, blocked it straight away.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent who totally messed up saying my name. I told her right away that if she can't even say my name properly, she's gotta be a scammer and ended the call. Looked her up on here afterwards - definitely blocked now!

A remarkably boorish chap who raised his voice in an obnoxious manner.

I was hoping to cut down my home insurance costs, but when they called to pitch their offer, I wasn't keen and ended the call.

I picked up the phone and greeted him, but to my surprise, he immediately revealed my name and my address! Naturally, I was taken aback and inquired about the purpose of his call. He mentioned something about a survey and proceeded to ask if I had a mortgage. I made it abundantly clear that I found his approach highly unsettling and bizarre, especially as those were his opening queries. It’s quite disconcerting when someone knows personal details without even bothering to introduce themselves. I opted to hang up the call after that. Such a blatant scam!
