Beware of this solar microgeneration scam, it’s just a scare tactic! They try to convince you that your inverters must be inspected or certified under some MSC rules, which is complete nonsense. They’ve simply got your details because you’re on the Government’s FIT scheme, likely from some marketing list they bought. Don’t waste your time or money dealing with these people!

Got a call from some bloke called Sean Smith claiming he was from a firm named MCS. Had a proper thick London accent. He rambled on about some new law in the States that apparently means solar panels need an off switch now. He kept going on about arcing and how risky the panels supposedly are, but when asked for details he stumbled over himself - which my husband, who's an electrician, found pretty funny. After about 10 minutes of letting him talk rubbish, we just ended the call (we like to mess about with scammers a bit).

Just got a call from some bloke named Sinclair, started banging on about Feed in Tariff stuff. I wasn’t having it and told him to jog on. Honestly, these pointless calls are such a waste of time, I’ve got better things to do!

Just got a call from someone saying they were from BDO. They told me to press 9 if I wanted to stop any more calls. Sounds like it might be one of those premium rate numbers, doesn't it? Seems to be popping up a lot lately from what I've seen.

Got a call from some woman saying she's from Nextgem and that my solar panel biz has shut down, which is total rubbish. She said she was calling from Kent but the number started with 0117, which is Bristol’s area. The number used was 01174090627, which someone named James used back in November 2019, and I’ve gotten missed calls from it a couple times too. Seems like scammers are just trying the old tricks to get me to do pointless work.

Some clueless bloke who reckoned everyone else was thick tried selling me some rubbish about solar panels and the US or something. I told him it was all nonsense and he flew off the handle. Then he started saying he knew where I lived and my phone number, even checked if I was on Facebook. Proper nasty bloke, made me feel really uneasy, especially being 71 and having a heart condition.

Got a call from a woman with a London accent saying she was from Nextgem. She insisted it was about checking my solar panels due to some new government rules. She wanted to set up a call for tomorrow. When I asked for more info about her company, she just hung up on me! Bit suspicious if you ask me.

I came across a supposed firm named NexGen that claims to offer an enhancement system for solar panel DCS. They refused to share a contact number with me. I dialled 1471 and was provided with the number, which appears to have accumulated several complaints. Dated 13/01/2020.

I got a few messages on my answerphone, one was this bloke yelling loudly with a TV blaring behind him. There was no real talking, just this annoying noise. After a while, they just hung up. Then, I picked up the phone and it was a guy called Robin Sinclair, who sounded a bit lost for words. Eventually, he mentioned something about the solar panels I’ve got. I didn’t bother continuing and just ended the call.

He went on with some nonsense about the US and upcoming changes or whatever. When I told him I was tied up, he actually shouted "don't hang up!" - bit rude really, like most people, I was busy.

i got a call from someone real persistent about solar panels, didnt listen when I said I dont live at the place they kept talking about. from what ive seen these solar sales calls are always from shady pushy firms that barely follow the law. honestly, there should be more rules to control this sort of thing.

i got called by this really persistent guy trying to convince me to up my fit payments or sometin, kept rambling about some US law but couldn’t explain even simple stuff about electronics or physics properly. also like, he had no clue what gdpr was and even refused to admit how a switch works (like isolating the circuit or whatever). he was trying to push some device that lets you turn things off remotely, just a total mess really.
