Some bloke called himself Steven Watson, sounded like he wasn’t from around here. Said he was from Nationwide Energy and wanted to chat about switching my energy deal now it’s finishing, but I wasn’t sure if he meant next year or the one after. I asked him if he lived close to any cliffs, which seemed to throw him off a bit! Told him I meant proper tall cliffs where people go for walks, maybe with jagged rocks below. Then I cheekily advised he should go find a spot like that, take a leap, and save everyone a lot of hassle.

Why aren’t the authorities cracking down on this? I’m signed up to the TPS, yet the calls still come through. The caller ID showed an international number, even though the area code is 0115, which should be Nottingham. These folks are clearly ignoring the law. Got a call from a woman who spoke really poor English, asking to speak to the person who owns the business. She was trying to fish out info about my current phone provider. She made around five guesses, all of which were wrong. Eventually she just gave up and hung up when I refused to give her what she wanted. Another dodgy scam that really should be dealt with.

Got a call on my home phone from this number earlier. The guy said his name was Raj and that he was from Business Choices, claiming they were connected to BT. He asked if I was the business owner and whether I had BT broadband. Then he tried to sell me broadband and phone services for £11 a month. When I asked why he wanted my landline number to call back, I told him he must already have it since he’d just called me. He said he’d actually called a mobile and needed the landline number. At that point, I just hung up.

Got a call earlier today from someone asking for my partner by their first name, then threw in “business owner” as well. When I asked who it was, he said Sanjay from “Business Choices.” I told him he’d got the wrong place - there’s no one by that name here and no business either. Still, he kept saying he had to speak about the landline. Told him again clearly, but no luck. I’m on the TPS list, but it’s obvious these dodgy or overseas callers don’t care about that at all.

I received a call from this number previously on the 4th of September, 2019. They tried again this morning, seemingly unimpressed with my response from before! The caller requested to speak to my other half by name and then threw in a mention of the “business owner”. When I inquired who was on the line, the chap introduced himself as Sanjay from “Business Choices”. I made it clear that he had messed up as there was no one by the name he mentioned, nor was there a business in this household. He kept insisting he was right and needed to discuss the landline. I reiterated that his information was incorrect. We're registered with the Telephone Preference Service, but as expected, unscrupulous, deceptive, or overseas callers don't bother with such registers - the caller should be noted as Business Choices.

I received a rather intrusive call from an unidentified number, apparently looking to chat with the proprietor of the establishment.
