3 yearsI had a rather articulate Asian chap on the line claiming to be from Plusnet, insisting he needed my "assistance" to resolve an issue with my broadband. It set off all sorts of warning signals, particularly since he was digging for personal information. Taking into account the previous remarks about TalkTalk and BT, I felt it was only right to share this cautionary note.PlusnetTalkTalkBT3 yearsSteer clear of this lot! They’re masquerading as BT, but it’s really just a ruse to snag your personal information.BT3 yearsReceived a call purporting to be from TalkTalk and it was incredibly convincing. They rattled on about my security details, which made their story sound quite credible. Eventually, they probed about my online banking. I decided to hang up, as it's clear they're up to no good - definitely a scam operation. They claimed to be affiliated with Openreach and rang me at 8 in the morning on a Sunday, which felt very off. I'm slightly anxious now since I foolishly downloaded an app that they suggested and granted it permissions, allowing them access to my phone. At one point, they even stated my IP address, pinpointing me to California, which is just strange. To put it mildly, this whole situation feels rather unsettling.TalkTalkOpenreachCaliforniaSubmit Your Own Report (0115 888 1227)
